I came here in 1984 on a 3 month project for IBM. That finished and they offered me another project that would take 9 months. I suggested a 3rd project, they liked the idea and offered me the project lead.

In the meantime I had met the girl that became the wife and the rest is history. Culturally, it isn't much different to England but I do miss watching the Rams as often as I would like to, Marston's Pedigree, Friends, Family, getting a decent joint (of meat) for the Sunday roast is almost ...

I have lived here in Sunny Northern California since i left Derby in Feb' 1983.

Whilst the daily grind is the same as everywhere else I think this is the best place to live if all things are taken in to consideration. The wide open roads & spacious homes also add to the appeal.

I do miss Derby sometimes especially on Matchdays. I used to live in Pear Tree area & as a kid I remember playing football in the back garden on Saturday afternoons. I used to wait for the roar from the Baseball ...

Been out here since 1989.

It was not a planned move for me in fact i only came out on holiday that year got a few breaks and here i am twenty years later.

As Booey as touched on although Boston is a little more cramped than parts of California there is still that sense of space that you notice we do not have once you have lived over here and go back to the UK.

Things i miss clearly is the Rams and match days i really miss away days jumping in the car for a day of following the Rams.

Been here since Nov 05. Supposed to be for 3 months, but quit my job to stay here.

Its pretty anglicised wrt to some things, and would probably say the only thing i really miss is friends and family.

Its only little, but the best thing about it is the travel. Was in KL this weekend, can go to Phuket in an hour & laze about on a beach. Bliss.

The weather also rocks even though it is just as wet as the UK. A really cold day is 26, and really hot day is 34. Outside of work, live ...
