I'd like to think most of you know me well enough now to know I am not the kind of person who rubs people's noses in it if it turns out they were wrong and I was right.

I am an active poster on 3 forums and have been 'debating' my beliefs over the past couple of months with various posters on the 3 forums I visit.

There have been people in this forum who disagree with my 'insistence' that the players we have could and should have bee playing better, and that they are not shit players ...

Gary Neville - Misguided?

Watching SKysportsnews and they're running a report based on Gary Neville's alleged statement, which I havent yet seen, that "Footballers are worth EVERY penny they get!"

My initial reaction was one of fury and disbelief. No man is worth being paid more than the average UK ANNUAL salary per week!

I think Gary Neville's statement adds further to the feeling that footballers are so far removed from reality it's inconceivable.

I dont regard professional footballers as important, ...

With the new season nearly upon us it is normal to be filled with optimism and excitement, even the idea of trips to Scunthorpe and Peterborough bring a smile to a face that would normally show a frown at the thought of such dismal destinations and the realism of dark nights and scant reward for the money, time and love invested in getting there, but this optimism seems perennially difficult to find among Rams Fans.

I’m not sure what it is, maybe the scars from our horribly embarrassing ...

Having read opinions of many Derby supporters on several forums, it cannot be argued that EVERY Derby fan thinks that something needs to be done to improve Derby County as a team.

Many of the vocal supporters seem to believe that the players aren't good enough and should be replaced, thus requiring financial investment to a)recruit new players and b)remove contracted players that arent wanted.

I personally have had the same opinion for a long while, even going back to the end of 2008 ...

I think I forgot to mention this in detail yesterday. But there was a highly entertaining but quite embarrassing display of petulance and indiscipline yesterday in the friendly at Chesterfield.

Throughout the whole game you could see and sometimes hear Gary Crosby and Nigel Clough reacting badly to some of the players (Varney, Pearson and in particular McEveley) and the nearside linesman.

Okay, it's a friendly but still nice to see some passion, but Crosby's antics were embarrassing ...

"whatever you say about Billy Davies he is a good judge of a player". This somehow justifies our purchase of Barker, because Forest were also after him, what a f**kin kn*b

Those words came out of the mouth of some f**kin dimbo on Radio Derby 5 minutes ago. His name is Brian apparently and I recognise his voice as a regular contributor to the monday night moan in.

So I'm off to hunt him down and ask him about Eddie Lewis, Robert Earnshaw, Andy Todd, Andy Griffin, John Macken, ...

Just an article I wrote based on a subject I've thought long and hard about, let me know what you think. I'll be writing more soon.

Why Do We Do It?

As football fans we tend to consider ourselves relatively familiarised with the ever-lasting rollercoaster ride that comes with supporting our chosen teams (that is unless we consider ourselves Manchester United fans, the only rollercoaster being which scrap metal trophy to purchase this year). It is almost a blind acceptance that all football ...
