A Bulgarian schoolgirl, aged 11, has given birth to a baby girl on her wedding day.
Kordeza Zhelyazkova reportedly went into labour during her marriage to the child's father, 19-year-old Jeliazko Dimitrov.
It is reported the bride-to-be was still wearing her wedding dress when she arrived at hospital and gave birth to a healthy 5.5lb baby daughter, Violeta.
Zhelyazkova, thought to be the world's youngest mother, told the News of the World that she would not play with toys anymore as she has "a new toy now".
Her husband now faces up to six years in jail for having sex with a minor.

Although I find it reprehensible to think of an 18 or 19 year old having sex with a ten year old girl, I also believe that you should look at the people involved and at what happened.
Was it "proper" rape or the statutory kins as she was under age? Did she consent? Did she understand the possible consequences of her actions?
Did he?
In the end, he did marry the girl and appears thus to be taking his responsibilities on. If so, wouldn't it be better to let him work and earn the money to support his bride and child rather than to leave that job to the family(ies) and/or the government?

There are health reasons, to do with incomplete physical development at that immature age, why a girl shouldn't have sex, let alone have a baby.
It will make her more prone to serious women's ailments sooner or later.
Apart from that, I can't believe that a child of 10 could appreciate the consequences and responsibilities of becoming a mother.

This is so beyond what I find acceptable and so far outside what a society should countenance (as it appears to have done by allowing even the possibility of the marriage taking place) that I actually doubt its veracity.
