Steve Cotternil has this week rejected rumours that Nottingham Forest's recent slump will lead to them exploring different colours of grass for the City Ground.
"Green is what we want and I don't think our lack of goalscoring form can be attributed to this colour of grass" said Cotteril. He added "whilst there have been calls for us to look into dying the pitch red to help our cause, I think this is unsustainable in the current financial climate. I will back our players to find their form on the green pitch". He also refuted claims that the team had been training on purple pitches to try and create a purple patch.

Forest's options to attempt to halt their slide into League 1 obscurity then rest with attempting to postpone all their future remaining fixtures, sitting in the corner and refusing to play them unless they're guaranteed a goal and a man head start.
The loan window for Championship teams also opens on Thursday. However, don't worry Forest fans, the window for League 1 clubs also opens then. The recent passing of Forest owner Nigel Doughty has led to questions over the club's financial commitments and the contracts which he agreed to look after financially so the loan window may be fruitless again for them in their fight against teams who can play football.
