I would have thought that Leeds had learnt their lesson. They had about three brilliant years followed by a serious decline under Ridsdale and O'leary. They would get the same under Billy, but at a lower level. I could easily see Billy & Bates being responsible for the rise of AFC Leeds in about four years.

He is actually starting to sound a bit desperate though, which is nice.

Billy Davies was yesterday spotted at the ground of Beeston Athletic FC reportedly to discuss the vacancy as u11 assistant manager. Billy Davies greasily opined that "Billy Davies is ideally suited to this role as he can understand and see eye to eye with these players." Beeston were unavailable for comment.

Since leaving Motherwell in 1991, he's spent less than 4 years as a manager.

Could it be that he needs to get on better with his Chairmen and Boards, rather than setting the fans against the club for his own personal agenda?

At this rate, only the truly desperate will even look at him.

Maybe he only does it short term as he can see the fall that sits on the horizon and bails out leaving the next man in charge to worry about it.

You're right about the typos - sorry!

Strictly speaking, the PD has lasted 2 years as a manager just once -

Motherwell - 23 months - sacked for poor results
Preston - 21 months - thought the grass was greener at Derby
Derby - 18 months - provoked the chairman into giving him an escape route
Florist - 29 months - sacked for thinking he should be running the club?

To be fair, a lot of F*rest fans I (regrettably) know are pining for him back.

Interesting to see how much Bates wants to p*ss the Leeds fans off because they hate him as much as we do. He p*ssed them off when he played them in the play offs with Preston, got a draw in the first game and pronounced on telly "Job done"!

If he goes there he'll start with Ken Bates as his only friend and within weeks he'll almost certainly p*ss him off as well.

Sounds like a good plan if you ask me.

Maybe Davies at Leeds can break Clough's record of 42 days. After all, as he said upon moving from Derby to Forest "if it's good enough for Brian Clough, it's good enough for Billy Davies".
