Re: Capello resigns?
gotta give him credit for standing up for what he believes in, assuming this is about him disagreeing with the FA finding Terry guilty before he is found guilty...

Re: Capello resigns?
Personally, not going to miss him! Can't see he ever got the player at his disposal to play with any great passion or commitment. Maybe that is the fault of the over payed, over hyped, disconnected nature of our top players!
Think we need someone in who can reignite the passion and pride that should come with representing your country at the highest level! Stuart Pearce certainly played with both in abundance, can he get that from his players as a coach? The 21's and kids don't seem bad. Arry, now he hasn't got a fraud charge hanging over him? Certainly seems to get a lot from the resources he's given.
I'd be happy with either! Think a decision needs to be made quickly, we've all written the Euro's off but, if we don't wan't a humiliation, a new coach needs to be given the best opportunity to implement his ideas and plans!

Re: Capello resigns?
I've always believed that the same nationality qualifications that apply to players should apply to international managers. I hope we get an English manager. I can't think tht anyone is better qualified than innocent 'arry.
Pearce has never achieved much at club level so I don't think he'd be a better candidate than Redknap.

Re: Capello resigns?
Unfairly criticised IMO. Well, as unfairly criticised as he can be earning £4 million a year or whatever it was.
His face didn't fit, so the media had it in for him. Fair do's to him for saying what he actually thought regarding the Terry shenanigans as well, rather than towing the party line.
Couldn't give a sh*t who gets it though, still won't win owt.

This is the best thing that has happened to England for years.
On the eve of a major tournament we now have a ready made excuse for being shi*.

From 1970 onwards in my lifetime...they have not needed them but they have been made.

Re: Capello resigns?
Capello stood by his principles - something the FA rarely do.
Capello is easily the most successful England manager of all time.
Maybe not the best time to change horses a few months before a major tournament.

If you are going on silverware Jo we only have one outright winner for that title.
And i dont know the facts he may have more wins than Bobby Robson..having probably played more games but i would put Robson ahead of him also.
With Mike Bassett a close third.

Sky Sports News have just asked Neil Warnock if he'd take over. Behave.

I do enjoy a bit of irony...
The same people who demanded Terry's sacking for RACIST remarks
are now demanding a ENGLISH manager!
You couldn't make it up!

Re: Capello resigns?
Does anyone know how many friendlies we have left before the tournament? I know we won't win owt, or at least it was looking very unlikely.. but I'd like to see us at least progress past the group stages so I have someone that I actually support after the first couple of weeks.
Whoever takes over is in for a pretty terrible summer - unless it spurs the players on to work harder (doubtful). What this will do of course is criminalise Terry further in the eyes of many members of the British public - he will be considered the cause for a terrible campaign when really the FA is at fault. How this has dragged out for so long is beyond me.
