Just watched Newcastle against Villa on ESPN Classic - Keegan's team, with Ginola in it. It reminded me that Jim Smith was within a gnat's cod of signing both David Ginola and Emmanuel Petit in that fantastic period before Steve Maclaren was poached by Manure. Just how far could that team have gone?

They would have been out injured after the first six games.

Well Ginola would have been played at right back & Petit would have been on the naughty step from the off & would have been loaned out, however, we would have been a sensible & stable run club & with an outside chance of the play-offs
