    Andy Williams RIP

Post by Boris on Thu 27 Sep 2012, 9:47 am

Really sad to hear he has died. Used to wake up as a kid listening to my mum playing his records on her record player on a Sunday morning. Right up there with Monroe and Big Frank in terms of his voice and had some great songs..Home Lovin Man, Can't take my Eyes off You, Moon River, Born Free etc etc....feel part of my childhood has just gone :crying:

I never rated Marilyn as a singer Boz, but I could sit and watch her voice for hours.......

Andy Williams, entertainer, King of (the Middle of) the road. RIP

    Old Mr swing yer pants.

I hated him when I was young and all the other middle of the road artist and songs but like hearing those short clips selling compilation albums his music sounds Ok today & reminds me of a long forgotten time.
    RIP

Andy Williams was one of many singers that I didn't particularly like, as a singer, that is. Their genre isn't mine. What I can recognise, though, is when somebody is very good at what they do, whether or not their genre suits my taste.

Andy Williams was one of the best crooners around.
