BTW, You were always on my mind the best Elvis song ever? If I can dream for me but I constantly change my mind on my favourite Elvis tune.

It's strange how liking Elvis has become acceptable now, think there was only one real fan when I was at school and he didn't half get some stick. Now everyone I know likes his music to varying degrees.

I suppose it would be down to which generation you come from Purple, for me I was at the impressionable age of 7 or 8 when he first became known on these shores then a couple of years after that when he hit the top with songs of that era. He became a big favourite of the time and even some 58 years later he still has a following that recognises him as the "king". His songs are still known by a lot of the 3 to 4 generations that have followed. How many modern day artists will that be said about in 50 to 60 years time?

There were no bad or even average one's! When he was going through his mainly Ballad period from 69ish he had many B sides to a lot of his hits that were brilliant in there own right and I always wished they'd've been released as A sides. I remember when I kept a club I made a cassette tape of all of them and a few of his more obscure or less well known songs and it was brilliant. I wished I still had it so I could transfer it all to disc or something more modern but like a lot of other things it got lost somewhere along the way. There will never be a performer like him or a voice so versatile, he could sing anything! He truly was the King! Sorry Kev'.

Not the King of Rock and Roll in my book he aint. He rocked for a couple of years and then it was all mushy films and ballads for the vast majority of this career. I consider him a crooner.
