    An Almost Perfect Football Weekend

Post by Stockport Ram on Sun 11 Jan 2015, 7:30 pm

Had Newcastle beaten moneybags and Twattinho Chelski it would have been a perfect football weekend.

A superb away performance from the Rams, Steve Bruce's Hull looking more like they will return to a level approaching his managerial ability, The Kings Of Europe winning away, Florist losing again, and that team from Trafford being beaten by a superb performance from Southampton.

I don't even mind the Bluenoses winning against Wigan !

There is a long way to go this season and I am a bit worried about Norwich...think they might be the team that come storming through..so a draw at Bournemouth might have been an even better result.....other than that agreed, a great weekend for the Rams (and my dad and brother who are big Saints fans!)

And QPR lost away again. Great to see them lose. Hate them because of their rich owners and dislike Redknapp too.

I'm with you Boris, I was happy with a draw there. They are a damn good side.

Talking of QPR losing away again, they've now lost all ten of their away games this season. Anyone know what the worst record for consecutive away defeats is and who holds it ?

Even we weren't that bad in THAT season.

I would rather Hull and Bruce stay up than Fester...Pardew at Palace ..don't mind Bruce at all.

QPR hold the premiershite record - there was football before 1992.

Liverpool lost 20 consecutive away games in the 50's

Some other team (Sunderland I think) also lost their first 10 top flight games before the premiershite started

I wish that were true, but haven't they already got more points than we managed?

Yes of course they've got more points already than we managed. Most teams pass that embarrassing total by October. However, in a desperate attempt to find something positive from that season, at least we didn't lose ten away games on the trot.

    Hurrah.
