    Redknapp gone

Resigned - apparently needs knee surgery and can't fully commit to the job for the next couple of months...and Madonna's a virgin!

The story is that Redknapp is due to have a knee replacement op.

Does it sound like a tactful way of easing him out, rather than sacking him?

Not too worried about McClaren leaving a club with a strong chance of being in next year's Premier League for one with every chance of not being.

If he leaves us for qpr I come round and buy you a pint, not a hope him going there.

Old twitcher had no money to wheel and deal on the transfer dead line, hence no interview for sky sports through car window so no extra cash for him so, ..... time for knee op Anger

Not sorry to see him go. The knee op story sounds a bit too convenient. Reckon he wanted some players the board said no so toys got thrown out.

Mebbe, rob, Mebbe. However, you may well find that SM is in the luxurious position of not needing to work. He does the job because it is what he WANTS to do. He is also at a place, IMO, where he WANTS to be.

He won't need money but I think he has the ambition to put right the England job debacle, in terms of reputation. My expectation is he will use DCFC as a stepping stone up the ladder to managing one of the big hitting clubs. Even if we went up when a club with a bigger profile comes in he would be off.

It won't be QPR but he could have some decent choice in the summer. Villa, Everton, Newcastle, even Liverpool and Man City could be available.

Sherwood is apparently favourite to succeed, but Steve is on the shortlist. I'd be very surprised if he left to manage QPR, who will more than likely drop down into the Championship next season.

I don't think he will take this one either - but I don't expect him to be at Derby in 16/17 either - either we

    a) wont go up and he will leave for a premiershite job
    b) we go up and do well - leave for a better premiershite job
    c) we go up and do shite - will be sacked

On b), if the Rams do well there aren't all that many Premiership jobs that are inherently better. He might not want to end up reliving David Moyes' mistake. It's hard to imagine anyone turning down a job offer from Man Utd., but I could see him turning down the likes of Newcastle if Derby go up and stay up.

On c), I would think we'd have to repeat our record breaking form of '07/'08 for him to be sacked. Unlike the red turds along the A-52 we have a reasonable board. I doubt they'd look on relegation from the top flight as a sackable offence in and of itself. Surviving in the Premiership in year one is notoriously difficult.
