    Blame Game

Post by rob on Thu 19 Feb 2015, 4:25 pm

Shamelessly copy and pasted from football365.com

Said Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi on the club's overspending: "I am not blaming Stuart Pearce or anyone but let me tell you something. Stuart Pearce is the one who picked Britt Assombalonga. He is the one who picked Antonio. For Assombalonga, we paid £5.3 million and Antonio £3 million. We bought Mancienne, Tesche. All these players. The wages are too high. I'm not the one who put these wages. There was a chief executive who was there and a manager who was picking the players."

Well, you're half-right Fawaz. Nottingham Forest did appoint Paul Faulkner as Chief Executive, but not until September 1, a month after Antonio and Assombalonga were signed. Before that, Pearce was answering to... erm... you.

So this guy signs cheques to pay the bills for agreements his subordinates make without his oversight or approval? Only one person to blame if that's the case, and I'll give you a clue who it is: He owns the most disgusting football club on the planet with the most asinine, puerile fans and his name rhymes with 'Schawaz Schal-Schasawi'.

And Fawaz has thrown his toys out and is refusing to talk to the media again.

Just as it was all looking a bit boring down the road - Doggie doing a decent job and the bills being paid. Now good old Fawaz has brought back the smile to my face.

And to single out the only 2 players that were justifiably earning their wages is ridiculous. Without Antonio and Asombolonga, they'd be scrapping in the bottom 3.
