Who are our rivals playing and what might they, on paper, achieve?

Brum v Brentford should see Brentford win
Bournemouth v Blackburn should see the Cherries win
Wendy v Boro should be tight as Wendy neither score nor concede many. I see this as a 1-0 win for Boro
Leeds v Watford I see Watford getting a draw at best
The East Anglian Derby will be a draw

With us winning at Craven Cottage it should be Us top, Boro still 2nd and 2 points adrift with the Cherries a further 4 points back in 3rd.

......... but what do I know?

Oh David Nugent, Oh David Nugent, we found him in Preston, we found him in Preston, we found him in Preston at the side of the road in a Volkswagen beetle............

    Sheff Wed v Boro
The game at Boro ended 1-1. Wendies home form is quite good and Boro's away form isn't
the best so a draw seems the likely outcome. But a win for either side would be no surprise.
    Come on you Wendies!

    Bournemouth v Blackburn
Rovers beat the Cherries 3-2 at home but their away form against top teams is poor.
Bournemouth's home form against better teams is not that good but they may have Harry
Arter and Matt Ritchie back after they missed games. Cherries ought to win but may not.

    Norwich v Ipswich
Norwich have the best home record in the division against the stronger teams, whereas
Ipswich have only won one game away against decent sides. Ipswich will go for a draw
but may not get it, because Norwich are in better form.

    Leeds v Watford
Watford thrashed Leeds at Vicarage Road and, whilst Leeds are better at home, Watford
should have too much firepower for the dirties.

    Birmingham v Brentford
Brentford's away form against weak teams is excellent, slightly better than ours, so it's
hard to see Brum causing an upset.

This is an opportunity we have to really take by the horns. We go into 3 very winnable games over the next week or 2: Fulham, Brighton and Brum, followed by 4 very difficult games (3 in 1 single week period - GAH!) of Norwich, Boro, Wolves and Watford.

Lets take as many points now (and hope the chasing pack drop a few), so we can hopefully develop a bit more of a buffer.

Dead right. We should be capable of picking up maximum points from our next three games. If we do we must put some distance between us and the rest. They can't all keep winning.

Boro and Norwich are the ones to worry about.

    .

I also think we're capable of taking 6 or 7 points from that tough run of 4 games. I'm just annoyed at their timing: Norwich Saturday, Boro Tuesday and Wolves on Friday. The mental strength required during that period will be immense. We will need to rotate effectively.

I think all of the top teams will win this weekend and East Anglia Derby a draw.
