    Current betting odds on promotion

Post by RRC on Mon 20 Apr 2015, 6:10 pm

Despite the doom and gloom in all the Rams' forums, we're favourites to win the playoffs.
    11/4 Derby
    3/1 Norwich
    5/1 Boro
    9/2 Ipswich
Have Rams fans gone mad and plunged fortunes on our fate?

Automatic promotion is already decided according to the punters -
    1/6 Watford
    1/5 Bournemouth
    8/11 Boro
    11/10 Norwich

If the odds are any guide, we'll beat Norwich in the semi and Boro in the final.

Considering we've taken a just couple of point offs Norwich and none from Boro
this season, this seems just a tad optimistic. Any thoughts?

I think the odds are because the neutral see us as this season's qpr. A team full of big name players who perhaps haven't performed as well as was expected.

I'm not sure that outsiders see our players as big names apart from Bent and Ince.

If I'm honest, even I don't think we've got many outstanding players apart from those two,
Hughes, Martin and, on his good days, Ward. None of our defenders are, and the rest are at
best fringe players for minor international teams, not stars. Even Thorne has a lot to prove.

We've got where are, this season and last, mainly by accurate, quick attacking play as a
midfield/striking unit, not by star performers dazzling the opposition.

Two draws against Norwich so we would appear pretty evenly matched. A win and a draw against Ipswich. Likewise against Bournmouth and Watford, which leaves Brentford and Boro who have both done well against us.

I wouldn't put money on any of us, but conversely I give us as good a chance as anybody.

Norwich will stuff us. Middlesborough will stop us from scoring, and that bleeding talented Forest fan will score.

The best chance we have at Wembley is Watford....or possibly Bournemouth.
