Blimey, Mark, have you turned into Jeremiah, spreading gloom and doom with every post?

We've missed automatic promotion but the world hasn't ended.
We still have a slim chance through the playoffs - stranger things have happened.

We're 6th and, when we have a fit squad, we play very attractive football.
We are not forever treading water in mid-table as we were under Clough Junior - by that standard
we've had a fairly successful season, albeit blighted by a succession of injuries to key players.

For heaven's sake cheer up!  Hug  Kiss  COYR

I want Bournmouth to go up anyway. I hate Boro and can't bare the thought of that smug tw*t Bamford going up with them.

I want them to go up cause for me they are by far the best team and I reckon it's the hardest place to go and play....although we didn't do bad down there.

All caught up with me Jo and to be honest even at our best last year I don't think we are close to producing the speed and precision that Bournemouth are showing tonight and on many more occasions this season.
Agree with you regards where we were...but in some ways these last eighteen months right now feel like nothing but a big tease.
I'm off to pull some weeds .

Bamford will either go back to Chelsea or be signed by another Prem club - Southampton
have been rumoured to be interested.

I do agree about Boro - anybody but them or Ipswich, if we can't go up.

Indeed. Bournemouth have been fantastic, pass and move, no stars. Remind you of anyone last season?

Norwich completely outplayed us twice, so if not us, then I'd be happy for them to go up in the lottery. Certainly not Boro or Ipswich.

Talking of tonight and the weekend - Did we really take Reading apart 3-0, and have the better of a marvellous 2-2 draw at Bournemouth THIS season? It seems like a lifetime ago.

Congratulations to Bournemouth though - a decent team playing decent football.

I agree with RRC - you are letting all this get to you.
Today I got a flat tyre when a nail went in it - £65.
Do I feel annoyed and let it get me down or grateful that it didn't blow at 70mph on a motorway?

Mel Sage is back in training, you could predict the winner of the calamity defending competition, you don't have to pay £65 to watch us play Arsenal (could buy a tyre instead) - there is lots to look forward to. I am worried that you are missing the snow. Is that it?

Enter Snow Joke Here...No LR...just got proper depressed about the whole thing over the last couple of days.
If we didn't have bad luck we would have no luck and a manager who cannot come out and say categorically that he loves his job and wants to stay.
No way Mel Sage will be fit for the final.

Delighted for Bournemouth - they play fearless, passing, attacking football with just enough edge.

Reminds me of us last season,....but without the edge.

Well deserved from Bournemouth high tempo, fast attacking football, crisp passing, every player comfortable on the ball and playing together as a team. With Arsenal the best footballing side to watch in England. If they keep the sharks away from their key players they will do fine in the gig league, if they lose Ritchie, Arter or Wilson it will be hard to replace them.

I can't help but look back and think of what should have been last summer when we went in for the right players in Francis and Ritchie but chose to spend all the money on a ludicrously inflated fee for Thorne. Bad, bad decision making from the fat controller.

Yes but his injury and appearance record had to be taken into account, he played a dozen games for us, if he had played a full season without mishap after his first ACL then maybe you could justify paying a premium. A fee of 1.5 million may have been worth the gamble, allowing others to come in as well, to blow your whole budget on a fragile player madness, poor decision making and it has been proved to be so from fat controller.

Sorry Angus but you're talking sh*t again.

Thorne suffered an acl injury on the opposite leg to his previous one. It is an injury that can happen to any player at any time, regardless of past record with injuries. They aren't even injuries like muscle injuries that you can pick up when you are putting extra stress on your opposite leg when trying to come back from a previous injury.

As has been said already, with Thorne in the side for a large part of the season I have no doubt we would have been celebrating promotion several weeks ago. The money looked well spent to those of us that prefer not to use hindsight.
