    F A Cup Final

Post by Boris on Sat 30 May 2015, 11:18 am

Anyone going to watch? Anyone still interested? I think it should be quite an open game with both teams better at going forward than defending..Arsenal to win 3-1...

I'm looking forward to it. Villa win for me, Arsenals defence won't be able to deal with Benteke

Quandary for me. I want Villa to win but know that Arsenal will. I will be watching.

I'll have a wild guess and say TV money from all those soccer-mad fans in the USA probably has something to do with it.

Arsenal should be 5-0 up by now and look certain to win.

An excellent performance by Arsenal. They are great to watch when their quick passing and movement is in full flow.

Takes another record off Manure, so marvellous for me.

....and at one point, just after Per "Linford" Mertesacker made it three, there was a sniff of Bury's 1903 record being consigned to the history books.....

Ironically, one of Arsenal/s strengths today was their defending. The new about crosses aimed at Bentecke, so their keeper was coming out and attacking the crosses every time, so Benty didn't get a sniff. But although Villa played well in the first 2/3 of the pitch, Arsenal/s defending was magnificent. Their chasing and closing down meant that Villa ended up with nowhere to go. Also, they defended as a team, so when Villa threatened, Arsenal were so well organised that they effectively parked the bus, while keeping the bus on it's journey with their attacking play. Very effective, and not like Arsenal at all!

I can't remember a more one sided final than that. My nephew, a life long Villan, summed it up with "we were never in it".

Really strange watching the game. I nearly always want the underdog to win but I really love the way Arsenal play so was content enough that they won..and my son had a £20 wager on Arsenal that came in as well...
