    Northants v Derbyshire T20 Blast

Post by RRC on Wed 10 Jun 2015, 2:45 pm

Can we beat the only team below us in the North Group?

Will Dominic Cork finally accept Chesney Hughes's sprint race challenge?

See it on Sky on Thursday, at 6.00pm or on Stream2watch sports

Looking forward to it, weather forecast looks good and lets hope our batsmen don't press the panic button!!

Derbyshire won the toss and bat..good news is that Madsen is back. The bad news is that Willey is playing for them....

166/7..not bad. Good knocks from Durston and Elstone and a little cameo at the end by Poynton. Probably not enough....

You say that Durston played a great knock Boris but in those last 6 overs he was knocking it around for singles when 160/170 was always likely to be a little short. I know that the others should play round him but this is t20 and every ball counts and in my opinion he got his average up, but probably didn't do enough to win us the game.

I said a good knock Loughs, needed someone to bat with him. Elstone's dismissal came just at the wrong time. We needed one of our big hitters to come off. Willey showed the way...we were always 30 runs short. I was disappointed with Rimmington, hope that was a bad day at the office for him...don't think its going to be our year in the 20/20...

Every year seems to be 'not our year'. I agree Rimmington looked poor and his action looks uglier than Anne Widdecomb after a punch in the face.

LOL roll Anne Widdecomb before a punch in the face is scary enough...I won't mind too much if we are competitive in the Championship and 50 over tournament....

Poor performance that lacking urgency with the bat and just waiting for mistakes in the field, a few players in that team not really suitable for modern one day cricket, Elstone did well and was a bit unlucky shows some promise but we seemed to assume the par rate for the ground was acceptable, when in fact the pitch offered little to bowlers, it was hot and sunny and the field like lightning on the day, 180 was minimum par in those conditions.

Let's be honest, Madsen, when fit, Poynton, Palladino, Footit, ...where is anyone else half decent (Guptill, Amla, Dilshan are a given when here)
