Essex won the toss and put us in..same old same old...11/3-Goddleman, Slater and Madsen all out with just 1 run between them. Also Dilshan not playing for personal reasons..not sure if he's had enough of playing with this bag of shi*e Anger Bang head Afraid

As I said last game Boris, a team mostly without quality...should develop a team from our home grown youngsters, rather than ditching them for various reasons....bring back Don Amott

Bad light stopped play and they're taking lunch. Lucky for us?

    57-6 off 18.2 overs (just as well it's not a T20!)

Once or twice last season, extras was close to being our top scorer and I can see it happening for
real because we're so inconsistent. We have one quality batsman in Madsen and he's been out of
form so far this season. We only attract mediocre cast offs from average counties and we don't
produce more than one or two decent home grown players. It's hard to see where we go from here.

I'm beginning to think that amalgamation with either Notts or Leics is our only hope of progress, sad
    though that would be.

Rain delayed play for a few hours - pray for more rain and an undeserved draw.

Derbyshire 148 all (our bowlers made 101 of the total)

    No batting points again.

Nice to see that Essex struggled as well..if we bowl well tomorrow we may restrict them to under 500 celebration

Day 3. This match is going really well . . .

for Essex. It's very generous of us to help them off the bottom of the table.

We need 325 runs to make them bat again and we've lost both our openers for 13 runs.

Essex won by an innings and 31 runs with a day to spare.

Derbyshire 294 all out (Madsen 112, Chesney Hughes 80)
