Great team effort by all the Derbyshire players!

Everyone contributed to setting the 201-7 target for Notts.
Chesney Hughes top scored but all those who batted kept the score moving at 10 an over.

It looked a bit ominous at the start of the Notts innings when they got to 77 off 7 overs
before the second wicket fell, but then all the bowlers got their act together, brought the
run rate down and then wickets fell regularly.

Hamish Rutherford and Nathan Rimmington are looking like better additions than the star
names that we had earlier in the season.

Hope this gives the team confidence to do a lot better in all formats. Go Derbyshire!

Always a good sign when any team called Notts loses.

Beating those smug Lancastrians off the last ball gives me multifarious joy too.

Twice in a row, (both times off the last ball, last time to win the title), but this time they didn't have Freddie.

For me, its as good as beating Manure.

Mention for Alex Hughes..batted well at the end and then a brilliant economical bowling display at a crucial time. Rutherford looks decent but Rimmington has been a big disappointment up until last night. Makes that defeat against Durham when we should have won easily even more annoying, if we had won that we would still be in the hunt.....

Really enjoyable game last night, despite getting absolutely drenched before the game. Derbyshire were excellent. They batted really well.

A big shout to Hughes, as Boris said. His bowling tied them down and shifted the balance in our favour as they were trotting along quite nicely. Rimmington also bowled very well and getting Hales out first ball was crucial. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

It did get quite nippy though - it has it's own weather system down at that place.
