Massive game in the 50 over competition. A win and we have a toe in the Quarter Finals....a defeat and it could be the end of our season. Toss could be vital with an early start. If we win it put them in and get early wickets!!! Come on Derbyshire Fingers crossed

Need a big score from one of the top 4, after that the batting looks inexperienced, if one of them gets a century or close to we must be favourites, if not our chances are slim.

Other than a 77 from Madsen we didn't get it. Agree middle order is not strong enough. We didn't lose it today, it was the ludicrous defeats against Yorkshire and Gloucestershire that did us, we should have been all but qualified by now. Turned in to a very disappointing season Bang head

Just checked Dilshan's record this season:

County Championship-69 runs at an average of 17
50 Over-12 runs at an average of 6
20/20-118 runs at an average of 23

Not sure how much we paid him but for me he must be the most disappointing overseas signing ever, I can't think of anyone in the last 40 years since I have been following the club who has performed as badly Dunno

Dilshan has certainly been a major let down.
He seems to come and go, never playing a run of games, which can't help.

Whatever overseas batsman we got (even Viv Richards in his prime) would struggle
to lift us in our present state though because he'd soon run out of partners.

Are we really down to 3 batsmen (Durston, Godleman and Madsen)?
All the rest seem to be bowlers, or all-rounders (allegedly and despite providing very
little evidence of any aptitude for scoring runs or just staying in for a few overs).

Guptill and Rutherford did very well...I also think Alex Hughes is an improving cricketer but agree we need at least 1 much better middle order batsman to sure things up.
