If this does end up being the final figure it is certainly not fair and suggests breaking the rules is ok

Surely at the very least there should be a ban of at least two years on them signing players.

Breaking the rules is perfectly OK if you're one of the London media's favourites, so no surprises there. In fact several of us predicted this outcome from the start of the 'investigation'.

Of course, had it been an 'unfashionable' team (pick any from the Midlands) they'd have thrown the book at them and probably relegated the team two divisions.

Holy Buckets! City paid fifty mil for Sterling? I totally missed that. Insanity. Pure insanity.

I think you are right. As they are a London club with rich owners they get away with it.

Just thinking about this in context with our spending if we are really going to shell out another £10m.

It seems that QPR's owners have loaned the club money. They have then written off those loans. They have then claimed that this must be counted as a reduction in liabilities and therefore, effectively as income for FFP as such a move is counted in this way in standard accounting. By accepting this, the FL avoid a potentially catastrophic court case where losing would see claims for compensation come from Forest, Blackburn and Leeds. However, doesn't it just mean that Mel Norris can just loan DCFC any money needed and simply write it off to avoid any FFP problems?

The big flaw of FFP was always that it prevented owner investment, or at least clubs being able to actually spend that investment. With this development that issue appears to have been resolved. Owners now appear to be free to pour in as much cash as they choose. It still offers a deterrent to building up debts, which is FFP's only good point. IMHO, FFP has just become a far better, and more workable system.

as expected FPP is a toothless tiger - it is a free market whether we like it or not - let the businesses go bust in my opinion - if people want to trade with risky businesses - which is what most football clubs are - then that is their choice - abolish it entirely in my opinion it serves no function

It serves the function, at the very top level, of keeping the rif raf out of the rich clubs exclusive money making venture.

true luffy but we all know it would hold no water in a court of law - like bosman it is a restriction on trade and would be laughed out of court.

Which is why Man Shitty and Chelski can splurge millions again (and PSG)

If the rules of the FFP, no matter how watered down, prevent any club having another 3 Amigos fiasco then for me it has worked.

what happens to QPR when Tony Fernandez gets bored or Malaysia has another late nineties crash (the way China is going another global financial crisis could be on the cards)

    The shieks and man shitty

Forest are hardly the model of a well run business

There is too much dodgy money and short term thinking in the premiershite - it is doing a great job of killing my interest in football in general - will always follow the rams but it is all about who has the deepest pockets these days

I wonder whether Blackpool fans feel like it has helped them avoid having a dodgy chairman
