    Dies Horrribilis

Post by Stockport Ram on Sun 30 Aug 2015, 6:19 pm

Well it was for me, any road up.

We lose to those still cheating dirty Stewards of the Bar, and the Bears, after cantering to the 2020 finals day, have 20 minutes of madness and hand those pompous Lancastrians their first one day title THIS CENTURY.

Ok, so no gardening after the Dies Horribillis. What about shopping? Due to unforeseen circumstances (which my son's long term partner will confirm) I found myself in the Trafford Centre at 11.30 on a Sunday. On a SUNDAY for Christ's sake? Never mind. I found a lovely pair of Ashley Williams 501 denims, in size XXXXXXL, on offer - a free Wayne Rooney in the back pocket. How could I resist?

    Every cloud and all that....

Could be worse Stockers, we just received news via Skype, that the wifes Brother has a tumor in his brain the size of a Satsuma.

    His options are
surgery which will most probably leave him in a wheelchair, and /or radiotherapy which can only slow the speed of the cancer with luck

or do none of these and live out the last few months of his term so drugged up to combat the pain he will be out of it most of he time.

    Kinda adds perspective dunnit.

Horrible news RJ. My thoughts are with you and yours - I really hope things turn out better than the doctors expect.

Good luck to your bro in law RJ. He has 3 choices, none of which is going to be nice. I'm glad I don't have that choice to make. Sort of puts my shoulder problems into perspective..........

Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law, rj. Life can be very cruel at times.

Instead of watching the Rams on Saturday I spent the day at my grandson's bedside in Great Ormond Street Hospital, the children's hospital in London. He's on the mend, slowly, but there are sights in there you don't want to see.

    Football ain't that important sometimes.

The best is all that can be offered to RJ & Bram and it surely must make us all look at our own mortality, there, but for the grace of God.........
