    How many points in October?

Post by RRC on Tue 29 Sep 2015, 2:31 pm

On paper, October's five matches all look winnable - no teams in the top half of the table.
That's if we're really making progress, rather than taking points from weak/weakened teams.

    H Brentford (19th, 8pts)
    H Wolves (16th, 9pts)
    A Blackburn (18th, 8pts)
    A Huddersfield (15th, 10pts)
    H Rotherham (20th, 8pts)

Please post your guess before kick off on Saturday.

We shouldn't be losing any of those games, but I'd be surprised if we took maximum points. Blackburn away could be tricky.

I'll go for three wins and two draws. 11 points.

    H Brentford - Draw
    H Wolves - Loss
    A Blackburn - Win
    A Huddersfield - Draw
    H Rotherham - Win

    8 points

That run of games will seal Paul Clement's fate though. With our spending and squad we ought to win at least four of them. If we only do OK we'll be in the playoff positions, the gates will rise and Mel will be grinning a lot. A poor run and Clement will be gone - too much invested for failure to be an option and Mel has already signalled that he's willing to correct past mistakes decisively.

Last season after 14 games, we we were top with 26 points.
Don't think we'll do as well this season.

I'll guess 9 points in October to take us to 23 points.

So a tasty 11 points and unbeaten.....

I'm going to be kind and assume that Mitten State Ram meant to post this (below) here
rather than in the GTS for our match against Brentford as I doubt whether we'd score 15
goals against an under-8s team on our current home form.

Why not? Apart from the fact that we're not actually playing very well, I mean.

    I certainly did. Thanks.

Don't drink and internet, kids. Or more likely I'm just losing my mind.
