    Goal celebrations

Post by Venice Ram on Thu 22 Oct 2015, 6:51 pm

I am sure many of the older posters are as nauseated as I am,  by the choreographed goal celebrations that take place today.

One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was " act like you've been there before ".

However, what concerns me more, was the celebration following JR's goal on Sunday. Following his knee slide ( which I am sure pisses off the groundsman ) other members of the team proceeded to pile on top of him, including the stupid mascot. How anyone was not injured is a mystery. I wish Clements would slap a fine on everyone involved to discourage a repeat performance.

Loved Shearer for that, short trot to the half way line, one arm one index finger raised, turn around right where is me next one, on with it.

Would have so loved him in a Derby shirt.

Ah well at least I saw Charlie George in his pomp Respect

An even bigger hero in my book for turning down Manure and going to his home town club.

I enjoyed Stevie Howard's similar muted acknowledgement - maybe summat about the North East?

So did I and I have to say he was one of the first players I ever saw do the sliding on the knees routine. Check out our fourth goal against Newcastle in the FA Cup 6th Round in 1976.

The celebration that really p*sses me off is when the goalscorer sticks his thumb in his mouth and runs off towards the corner flag. I always feel a strong urge to shoot such t*ssers.
