    The Sack Race

Post by RRC on Wed 04 Nov 2015, 11:29 am

When I saw the headline about another manager being sacked, I thought Freedman, Mourinho, Ramsey . . .

But no, the finger of fate, or the chairman's curse, has removed Chris Powell.
And there was me thinking he was doing quite well with such poor resources.

Chris Powell, done OK considering he never had funds. Hopefully he will get the chance at a more "giving" club.

Morris talking about more coaches at the Academy...
Cannot think of a better role model than Chris Powell to be involved with the younger players.
Even if it's till his next gig comes along.

Crazy decision, give him some resources to work with, apparently he spent £400k in the summer and recouped the butters fee, are the udders anymore than a mid-table team....

Both Powell and Ramsey gone. Surprised about Powell getting the sack. A bit surprised with the timing of Ramsey being sacked surely they expected to lose to Derby?:-)

Perhaps the QPR board had hoped to see more football, less thuggery and not have the 4th worst defence in the division ...............

Easy to say now I know but I was going to post that Ramsey was on the edge a couple of weeks ago when QPR appointed Neil "kiss of death" Warnock as "advisor".

Unfortunately I can see Warnock turning things around at Qpr unless they appoint a new manager quickly.

Gary Bowyer gone from Blackburn now. If Paul Clement is still here this time next year he'll qualify for a long service medal.

Fulham have sacked Kit Symons - he lasted just under 14 months.

His predecessors had similar sticking power - Magath (7 months) and Meulenstein (13 months)

TalkSport says that Blackburn have agreed terms with Paul Lambert, formerly of Norwich.

Also "It is believed that former West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine will come in as Lambert’s assistant
to help lead the team to promotion. Irvine previously worked as a youth coach at Ewood Park."

...... and clubs keep employing Managers who have failed to deliver at several clubs already. As that well known psychologist Dr McGraw keeps telling folk................. the best predictor of the future is the past. If Joe Bloggs has failed to cut it as a Manager at half a dozen clubs already, why think that he will get yourclub promoted......?
