    The mobile app

Post by CornwallRam on Wed 13 Jan 2016, 7:07 pm

Firstly, I'd like to say how technically excellent this forum is. Unlike many others, it just seems to work. No fuss, no fancy and ever changing gimmicks - just a reliable and simple interface. Even better, it's add free. Thank you RRC and anyone else currently involved behind the scenes. Clapping Clapping Clapping

When I browse on my phone I generally use the mobile version, which generally works really well. The one thing that could be done to make it even better would be the addition of a go to last page type button. It always lands on he first page of a thread and I have to keep pressing the forward button until I reach the latest content. It's marginally annoying on a 30 page thread.

Is this something which could be sorted 'in house' or is it just part of the app over which you no control?

Unlike the main interface, the mobile app is wholly provided by Forumotion,
the company from which we lease the software and the server space.

I will check their user site to see if this issue has been raised and if there
are any options to change the way it works (when I have time).

It's the coding equivalent of Conor Sammon - looks like it should be good, fast and enthusiastic. Unfortunately, it also misses the target every time and mainly just gets in the way LOL

    Q. Would it be better to remove the script for now?

I don't use the mobile app so I don't know whether it's worse than nothing.

I will contact the author of the script to find out if he/she can help sort out the problems.

It's possible that the issues are just with Android, or even the version of Android on my phone. I'd try to get a few more guinea pigs first.

If not, t could be quite amusing watching somebody under the influence trying to work it Drink

I would be willing to pay 1.2 million for a Sammon-esque app but unfortunately my Johnson-esque app is misfiring at the moment and I need to pay a Butterfield-esque app to assist but ATM my basic mobile is not functioning.
