Message to RRC - Spoilers opening / not opening

I can click open, and expose the contents of, a spoiler box, even when logged out.

I thought the idea was for only logged in members to be able to read them, or have I got that wrong?

Thought it worth a mention in case anything needed tweaking?  Dunno

I'll look into that - they shouldn't open unless the user is logged in.

I had the opposite problem - spoilers wouldn't open - this is what worked for me -
The Kaspersky security suite was blocking the spoilers from opening.
Click its green icon in browser's top menu (I use Firefox) and choose to disable it on dcfcc-craic

Even if you have different anti-virus/security software and/or use another browser,
this is still the most likely cause of the problem.

Please post again to let me know whether this solves the problem or not.
If it fails, please say what browser and anti-virus software you use.

I could still open them before I logged back in, a minute or so ago.
TBH, I'm not going to do the above, partly as I haven't got a clue where to start, but primarily as I don't see it as a problem at this end, ie, I currently have the magical ability to open Spoilers without being logged in.  I guess the problem is at HQ, as it is the forum that is trying to hide these contents from prying eyes.  If I can see them, when not logged in, who else can?

I've just tried again, since logging in, and the result is the same... I can still open them.

For the record, I'm on Chrome with just the Free Avast AV.

    Good luck.

... And to anyone else, I guess don't put anything too risky in a spoiler unless you are not too fussed, (although COYRS might still be, of course!)  or until such time RRC has the confidence to tell us they are safe to use again!

And remember.... Let's be careful out there!  Wink

I should have made that clearer, Mucker.

You need only try what I described if you CANNOT open spoilers.

Please don't post comments in spoilers thinking they're private - they're not.

    Ah right.
By guests, I presume you mean people who aren't logged in? So open to the world then?

    Good to know! Thanks
