    Gareth Bale

Post by Loughborough Ram on Thu 23 Jun 2016, 8:49 pm

I like Gareth Bale but he is starting annoy me. Apparently he is the side of the tournament so far and he seems to have a fixation about England. He jokingly said that no English players would get in the Wales side, he said that Wales have more passion and pride than the English players, and now he says that Wales topping the group was "good to get one over the English". He is now saying that the Wales focus is to try and win the tournament!

Let's get a few things straight, Wales played a Slovakia side that tried to win the game, scored two lucky goals but did ok, they then LOST TO ENGLAND whilst playing for a 0-0 draw, and followed that up with a reasonable win against a team that had thrown in the towel. He was very lucky to score his first two goals from let's be honest, very poor free kicks. He was totally anonymous against England barely getting a kick, while other put their bodies on the line to earn the draw they ultimately failed to get.

I'm delighted that Wales got through, as I am that Northern Ireland and the Republic also made it but Gareth, just shut the f*ck up and concentrate on the games.

I thought he was a diving one footed wanker at Spurs.
Embarrassingly one footed at one stage..maneuvered himself a over inflated move abroad.
Where he has done fairly well.
He's done fu** all in this tournament thus far other than from free kicks and opening his horse mouth.
I hope Northern Ireland **** him and Wales over.
He's still a wanker imo..nor do I have any time for Ireland doing anything either .
Despite having some great Irish friends I have been on the end of far too many derogatory remarks over here in Boston USA for being English.
So come on England Northern Ireland and France

Agreed. Only extra comment I'd make is that Russia came out to try and attack against Wales, knowing that a win against Wales was their only shot at finishing 3rd in the group. I'd fancy us to have also beaten them comfortably had they shown the same spirit.

That is a great argument for scrapping the 3rd place advancement rule IMO.

This whole tournament so far has shown exactly why they should scrap the 3rd placed team. Yes.. it's awesome that both the Irish teams have qualified. However, it's created a very defensive tournament and the goal to game ratio has been dyer.

Gareth bale will become the greatest welsh player in history, he will play his heart out for his country, more than giggs ever did.

Lets not pretend but with out him we would not be in the euros let alone in last 16.

    Cymri am byth

As for have a dig at england, its a wind up and works, the wrong way against england mind. But for 70min it was one of the greatest feeling in football bar DCFC. Getting promoted.

Honestly think you'll get beaten tonight mate. I think bost managers are good but I think that O'Neil edges it and that will be the deciding factor. Ireland are used to winning with next to no possession so they will happy to strangle the game and try and sneak it 1-0

Agree on manages , O'Neil gets more out of his team, they don't have the bale factor. If the spend to much time watching out for bale it could open up for us. They did that with Poland and ledwenski or what ever way you spell his name lol

2-0 wales bale and Allen (I hope)

Was out there for group games , great experience and now, stuck in ireland and rain

I am intrigued as to how both sides will play the game tonight. Both have got this far by sitting back, allowing the opposition to come at them and hitting them on the break with dead ball situations being their greatest weapon.

If they both try the counter game there will be 120 minutes of complete and utter boredom followed by the lottery of a penalty shoot out.

Another win, but scarcely deserved. Outplayed for much of the game with Bale making 1 contribution in 90 mins, but it was an important one a quality cross for the goal.

Bale may be good but in terms of carrying the team he is certainly no Ronaldo or Messi, has done very little in any of the games I've seen so far.

Totally agree and unfortunately after today we are going to have to keep listening to all the bullshit hype.
Continues to be a low quality competition IMO.....so many boring games .

The lack of quality is only surpassed by the lack of entertainment.
Reckon if it wasn't for the first week of idiot thugs and hooligans the whole tournament would have not even made the radar.

Already looking forward to another stale game outsider. Wales = football killers

What do you reckon to Bale so far, take away the two free kicks where the goalies tried their hardest to miss the ball, I reckon he's let you lot down, he has been almost anonymous through 390 minutes of football. I hate Ronaldo, but at least he leads his country, he is at the heart of everything they do. I suppose the rest of the team deserve some credit, getting to the quarter finals almost without their 1 world class player.

The fans made me laugh as well, genuinely proclaiming that they could go on and win it after yesterdays dull affair.

I would say the opposite to that. Ronaldo lopes from wing to wing and didn't get involved at all until part way through extra time when he actually tracked back over the half way line. Up till then it was a ten-man team + a very expensive on-looker.And then of course he provided the assist........

Take at look at Ronaldo. he has shown both extremes of his make up at the Euros. The sublime subtlety of his back flicked goal is him at his footballing best. The hissy fit he threw when the 3rd Hungarian goal went in because he failed to close the man down but pointed vainly in his direction hoping someone might actually do it for him is the other extreme.

However, credit where it is due, I don't think I have seen him dive yet at Euro 16. We still have that treat in store LOL roll
