Nottingham Forest's City Ground capacity reduced to zero

Nottingham Forest has under a month to ensure their fans can watch matches at the City Ground.

Nottinghamshire County Council has removed the ground's safety certificate due to a staffing problem.
A Spokesperson for the County Council said:

“The County Council is currently leading on Nottingham Forest’s annual safety audit and we have been informed by the club that it no longer has a safety certificate holder, which is a legal requirement for sports grounds.

“Unfortunately, we have no choice other than to restrict the club’s spectator capacity to nil until they put in place a suitable person to fill this role, which will allow the club to hold matches with spectators at its City ground.

“We are keeping this position under review and will be working closely with the club in the coming weeks on this issue.”

    Spokesperson from Nottingham Forest said:
“The club will continue to work in conjunction with the County Council to ensure all requirements are met and that a suitable person will be appointed as the club’s safety certificate holder.

“Nottingham Forest has a healthy long standing relationship with the County Council, and all parties are working together to resolve this matter as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

Sometimes I think we are wrong to hate them when I consider the fact that they are a constant source of amusement and downright hilarity

You can tell Fawaz was born into wealth, because he is obviously a moron who can't run a race let alone a football club.

I hope they have to play all 46 league matches away from home, except that would require the filthy lot to come to our place twice when once is already too many.

No, he hasn't but he's banned from football administration in Greece because he is
"the subject of a major criminal prosecution, in which he is accused of seeking
to control Greek football by criminal means, including bribery and blackmail".

Here's part of a Guardian article on him -

Marinakis was named as a key target in a 173-page report by the Athens prosecutor
last April, which alleged that he sought with others “to absolutely control Greek football’s
fate by the methods of blackmailing and fraud”. More than a year on he remains charged
with five criminal offences, including being involved in blowing up a bakery owned by a
referee, Petros Konstantineas, now an MP for the ruling Syriza party. The prosecution,
which follows the previous Koriopolis match-fixing scandal in which Marinakis is understood
to have been cleared, is said to be due for a verdict soon. Marinakis denies any wrongdoing.

As part of bail conditions imposed last June Marinakis reportedly paid a €200,000 bond and
was handed a ban from taking an active role in Olympiakos or Greek football, which is still
in force pending the conclusion of the criminal case.

One of the many remarkable features of this prospect – that a man facing criminal and corruption
charges on such a scale is Hasawi’s chosen new owner for a legendary club such as Forest – is
that the Football League rules may actually allow it.
The owners’ and directors’ test, which
determines who is “fit and proper” to own 30% or more of a club or be a director, bars people
who have been convicted of a criminal offence involving dishonesty or who have been banned
from involvement in sports administration by a governing or professional body.
