How many did Peter Taylor have?  Didn't he give Seth Johnson his England debut?   That's enough to get the immediate sack anyway....
he did only have 1 game but it was supposed to be temporary, Allardyce is just laughable

that's no way to talk about our next manager

To be fair, he gets given what is purportedly his dream job and then they have the temerity to only pay him £3 miliion a year. I mean, how is he meant to survive on that, poor bloke. He was only trying to feed his family.

    Fat greedy bastard.

That is the thing I really don't get he is earning £3 million a year and then risks it all for a dodgy £400k? Crazy

Presumably he has to pay top rate tax on the £3m salary, whereas . . .

Be sure and let us know if Billy Davies is on the list, in fact if you could make an anonymous phone call and get him on the list, even better.

Barnsley Assistant Manager Tommy Wright Suspended. Cellino also under investigation.

There is a lot more to come in this IMO.

I think there is and this is scratching the surface of an immense problem, mainly of FA making they have let all sorts of dubious people own our clubs and fail to police their own rules on agents and transfers.

Allardyce has let his high opinion of himself, fueled further by getting the England job affect his judgement. Not sure he should have lost his job but they probably would rather have given it more of a clean cut yes man like Southgate in the first place so no surprise the first opportunity to get rid was taken.

My opinion is on this issue if they really wanted to and were convinced they had a top manager they could have kept Allardyce on over this issue. That he was discarded so quickly suggests to me some top boys in the FA were not that enthused with him in the first place. The FA would generally be more comfortable with a PR yes man, history tells this. The debacle in France led them down a different road than they would normally go, Allardyce is more a loose cannon than the usual England choice.

Is the FA too easily influenced by the opinions of football journalists, whose views probably
wouldn't stand much scrutiny? To their credit, at least they resisted the calls for Redknapp.

The appointment of Allardyce looked cowardly (or naive) from the start.
Allardyce had already featured in a BBC Panorama investigation into football corruption. Allardyce
threatened to sue the BBC over it but didn't. Should the FA have inquired why he didn't sue?

Maybe it's no longer possible to find a successful manager who is also honest, rather than one who
hasn't been caught out yet The FA's continuing preference for Wenger suggests it's very difficult.
