#watfordfc will match #dcfc bid of £2.5m for #nffc Henri Lansbury. Player prefers move to Prem but new Forest owners still keen to keep him.

This transfer could take a long long time for #dcfcfans. Forest want £4m for their captain. Derby want the player. #dcfc #nffc

Really don't understand the interest in Lansbury. We don't need central midfielders we have got plenty already and not sure Lansbury is much better than any we already have.

But what if one of our regular midfielders has been lined up for a transfer to another club? Would we need him then?
(PS. I have no idea if that's happening)

Burton have got a big name lined up in the January window apparently - no idea if it's Bryson. IMHO if it is a Ram to Burton then Blackman on loan seems more likely

They signed Marvin Sordell on loan from Coventry today.

If that was happening (and it may be) then it would make a bit more sense. But that seems too much like forward planning for Derby not something we have seen a lot of in recent transfer windows - we normally sign players for positions we don't need filling and then panic buy for the positions we do need.
If Butterfield for instance was being sold to be replaced by Lansbury then I would be satisfied with that.

And I don't think we have got plenty anyway. Only Bryson available beyond the first choice three, and I'm not sure about him anyway. Hanson isn't an attacking midfielder. A player like Lansbury could provide more aggression and attacking intent than Butterfield does, so gives another option.

Lansbury is better than what we currently have, but I can't see us signing him. Too tricky to make the deal happen.

Not going to happen though unless the new NFFC owners tell Al Fawsi to sell him to us.
Why would they, unless they want to alienate trees fans?

In any case, Watford have already matched our bid and we can't beat them, or any EPL
club, without offering really silly money.

Don't like Lansbury's attitude. Not convinced about his temperament either.

Yes we need some new players. At least Butterfield won't be playing for a while! How unlucky 4 left backs out injured!

He also said Martin is now claiming the reason he is not playing is because he is injured.... but the medical staff cannot establish a cause. Has he now changed his story ?? Bit daft if he has......

Reiterated that he will not be returned but will most likely be disciplined

SM says the matter is now at Board Level.

Well unless he can make them out of thin air he wont either, because our backwards and sideways midfield wont make him any chances without Hughes

I'd be happy to see Martin back from the standpoint of team selection and likely productivity, but this whole process can't be doing Derby any long-term good. Why would another club invest money in loan contracts for decent players from Derby if a change in manager is likely to make that investment worthless? Our board ought to be insisting that contracts the club has signed are honoured without question.
