    Apparently under going a medical.

According to McLaren, as long as everything goes well, we hope to sign him. He also described him as "one for the future". Thats the last we'll hear of him then

The Daily Express says Derby will sign ROSS McCORMACK on loan.

So another No.10 and, if Steve Bruce's comments about him have
any substance, Villa should be paying Derby to take him.

of all of our number 10s, I think that McCormack would probably be the most capable of playing up front on his own but I really don't see him as the answer.

That seems a good deal. Hope he proves a great find. I feel better about a quarter-million ventured on a young pup than 2-4 mil invested in signing old nags.

Spot on. It would be nice if we could snap up a talented youngster for a modest fee. Perhaps his club would take Blackman in part exchange ?

    .

Perhaps if we upped the offer to £300k they'd agree to take Blackman.....

Would his style fit playing up front alongside Vydra? Commentators keep saying that Vydra really needs to play off another forward to be productive. Of course this would involve McClaren changing his formation, so...

so... we go on trying to play 4-3-3 as if we were Barcelona but without a centre forward
and without a left wing who can provide assists. Is it any wonder that only Wigan have
scored fewer goals, that Norwich trampled all over us and even Wigan can hold us to 0-0?

Why don't we try 1-4-3-3 Clough style (Brian that is)? Our title winning sides played with one winger and two in the middle-ish. Hinton, O'Hare and Hector and with George instead of O'Hare.

I will leave it up to you to come up with a front 3 a la Clough from the players we currently have fit and come up with my choice next week when I get back from the UK where I will be attending the Cup game against Festah and visiting friends and family.

Is JR's move to Birmingham definitely off now?

Weimann showed good technique, speed and composure in scoring his goal against Liverpool. Shame he couldn't do that for us.

Weimann didn't get many chances. Apart from ONE start, he was mostly sent on as a sub very
late in games, so it's impossible to say whether he would have done better with a run of starts.

100% RRC, we have form over several managers of signing players, not giving them a chance, and then consigning them to the bin as failures.

Absolutely. You can't bring a winger off the bench in 20 minute bursts once a month and expect him to show anything more than work-rate. Weimann always showed that. In comparison JR shows little more than that even when he plays a full ninety every week.

I have seen enough of Weimann to opine that he really isn't very good.

Theo Robinson may get a headline or two on F A Cup MOTD tonight, but we all know that his first touch is only marginally better than Conor Sammon's.
