    Championship mid-season review

Post by RRC on Mon 26 Dec 2016, 4:07 pm

The Guardian has a review of the Championship so far.

The author clearly knows Derby very well -

Derby County are a good way back from the top two but are still perhaps the most interesting team, as
they have been for some time. Steve McClaren has lost only one game since returning to Pride Park, and
they have gone from the relegation zone in September to the edge of the play-offs at Christmas. Given
Derby’s talent for finding new and interesting ways to miss promotion in the past few years, one should
    probably reserve judgment
, but it would not be a surprise to see them challenge at the top pretty soon.

January will form the season for me.

A Norwich .....always a tough visit despite their poor recent form

A Leeds ...Fri 13th on telly and Leeds on top form

H Reading.....We always contrive to lose at home versus Reading

H Burton....... NC will be looking to inflict Maximum pain, lost to them already

A Ipswich.... cold tuesday night on the east coast never a comfortable place against Mick's kickers

If we come out of these with a decent tally, we will have a strong shout for a play off place.

Judging by his twitter pic of the late Jimmy Gordon I'm guessing that the author (Nick Miller) is a red dogs fan, but he does seem to have our number when it comes to promotion candidates.
