Anyone else finding it slightly nauseating how the press are suddenly all fans and believed he was a really, really special manager?

He was pretty special for Watford.

Not having a go at Taylor, he was an excellent club manager and by all accounts a decent bloke, just the complete hypocrisy of the press.

Indeed - who can forget the 'Swedes 2 Turnips 1' headline and nasty comments?

It's typical of our sporting press (and a lot of sports fans) to build up someone
as a genius and, as soon as he/she has a bad spell, rubbish them with no mention
of the writer's earlier lavish praise, let alone an admission of their poor judgement.

me too - he did wonders with both Watford and Villa and seemed a decent bloke

there are millions of pounds of reasons to take the poison chalice of the England job but the stick he got was unecessary
