McLaren said today that Bryson is struggli,g but wants to play tomorrow, Bradley Johnson has trained for 2 days and should be available and David Nugent has also trained and may have an outside chance of featuring tomorrow.

Will Hughes will not be involved.

I'm telling ya, Nugent to score the winner off the bench. Then probably never to feature again for Derby so long as he lives.

Three Derby County players are injury doubts ahead of Tuesday night's Sky Bet Championship clash with Burton Albion at Pride Park Stadium (7.45pm).

Craig Bryson (hip), Nick Blackman (knee) and Johnny Russell (hamstring) are all battling to be fit to face the Brewers.

Manager Steve McClaren is set to make a late decision on the trio.

Bryson would be the only starter anyway in my book.
Russell ok off the bench and Blackman...well lets say he wont get a shirt anyway...
More interested in progress of Thorne and Forsyth ...will they both get a full pre season and be ready for next season?

The latest news on Thorne is in the opening post of this thread.

The most recent news of Forsyth, a couple of weeks ago, just said he's out for the season.

I doubt whether it's possible to be more precise than about bad long term injuries,
for example, Thorne was supposed to start training and then had another setback.

Richard Keogh has a calf strain and will not be fit for Tuesday's match with Preston.

The back four is likely to stay the same as the one that played Barnsley.

NICK BLACKMAN is expected to start training again in 3-4 weeks.
He may be fit enough to play again before the end of this season
but it's likely he'll have to wait until the pre-season.

JASON SHACKELL has had an operation on his back and should be
fit in time for the pre-season.

I don't rate our chances of selling Blackman. A serious underperformer (when fit) and a complete waste of money.

There's an update on CRAIG FORSYTH -

Derby County defender Craig Forsyth says he is "over the worst of it" on his long road
    to recovery from serious injury.

Forsyth is making steady progress as he battles his way back to fitness after sustaining
anterior cruciate ligament damage to his right knee for the second time in under a year
during the early stages of this season.

The 28-year-old left-back had only just returned from his first lengthy lay-off when he
suffered the injury during the Rams' goalless draw at home to Aston Villa in August.

I cant work up any enthusiasm about the rest of the season

Be interesting to see what the summer transfer window does to the team and what our new management/coaching team can teach the lazy overpaid tossers who we either cant get rid of or who he deems fit to represent our club next year.

Brilliant news listening to George Thorne. It will be like having 3 new signings with himself, Martin and Forsyth all back. Good news at last

I'm really happy to hear it's going well.. but I just can't get excited about Fozzy or GT as they've both become so injury-prone, that every tackle fills me with fear.

Bit harsh to call GT 'injury prone'. He had his leg snapped in two places by one of Mick McCarthy's gorillas. Could have happened to anyone.

not being joyless - just seems to be the bad luck that happens to the rams pre season over the last few years - and thorne and fozzy's injury records are hardly spotless - I totally and utterly hope they are both fit raring to go and at the levels we have come to expect (and miss when they are out) - as it will be like having 2 new players into last seasons squad - which can only be a good thing

and the sun is shining and I have just booked tomorrow off for a 4 day weekend

I take 'injury-prone' to describe a player who is always having bits of him go wrong or fall off.

The word I'd use to describe a player who gets his leg broken by some neanderthal full back would be 'unlucky'.

    Like Thorne.
