Like every other Derby fan, I love GT and can't wait to see him back. I hope he's suffered his last major injury, regains 2014 form, and sparks the revival we're all so desperate for. But if he breaks again, I won't be shocked.

Better news of THORNE and SHACKELL.

They may play in the U23 game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Friday.

Goals per game one of our best ever strikers was Branko. Such a shame he played so few for us.

A major factor was the inability to diagnose what was really wrong with Branko. The straw grabbed was that it was all psychological. If i remember correctly it was in fact strained stomach muscles. And very real..............

There is a common theme between Jim Smith's declining years and the post NC era. In both we have bought expensive talented individuals, but with no thought about team blend. The results, so far, have been astonishingly similar.....

For those wonder why Bryson doesn't start matches -

Bryson is still being troubled by a niggling injury.

"Brys had an issue when he came on against Preston on Tuesday," said manager Gary Rowett.

"It is something around his quad, hamstring and back that is just not going away."

Thorne got 45 mins tonight (as was planned) for the under 23's and Shackell got a hour in the shop window apparently with no problems.

Things are looking up with the fitness of Thorne.

That explains a lot. Taking that into consideration, why doesn't Elsnik start and have him make way for Bryson rather than Butterfield, who isn't even a shadow of his former self?

However, if we do start with a 1-4-2-3-1 I can see reasons to have BJ in there, in which case you wouldn't start Elsnick. 1-4-3-3? At the moment Tom, BJ and Elsnik as 1st choice midfield for me until Bryson is properly fit.
