So the fact that Barnsley put every attack down the right to good effect in the first half hour have no bearing.
Vydra is not at home chasing back.

What does he watch from the stands, re-runs of Dynasty? ..... and when he gets to the dugout and starts ranting and waving like an Pakistani traffic cop well .....dont get me started. dancer

Seems pretty straight forward to me Chicken.

    I'll translate from pigeon dutch:

    Interviewer last Friday:
"So Steve, how do you think the next two games will go?"

    SM:
    "I sort of knew.....when I came here.....champion ship..... I thought one of them...we would play....Barnsley...or Preston.
To experience big games.......Barnsley....at home......champion ship....and Oakwell....We have a very young team....we are what you call underdogs...but we are looking forward to it."

In the interests of impartiality,  I think Indian traffic cops also have an alleged penchant for similar main road antics..... Wink

    So.

    1. I want to play.

    2. I am not a target man in a 433.

    3. ...but I can play wide left in that system.

I have only seen 45 minutes of Saturday's game, and am about to watch the second half, but it is blatantly obvious to me that we were trying to play 4231 with Ince centrally.

I have seen enough intelligence from both Vydra and Nugent to convince me that Vydra should be central and Ince wide left. In fact, there were two or three occasions in the first half when Ince played balls in from the left towards the penalty spot which were ideal for Vydra.

Time for the second half on Rams player.....

..... and we persevere with playing lefties on the right.

IF and only IF you have both wingers playing on the "wrong side" will this be a reasonable tactic and only then when they regularly swap sides to be able to test the full backs on the outside as well as on the inside. You could, of course, have them train that "wrong" foot for half an hour every day to get them confident enough to use it regularly but that would put too much strain on the lovies.

At the moment we are playing intro the hands of our opponents. The wingers cut inside at least 99% of the time which makes them easy to defend against. We continue to play with low tempo ball circulation which gives them more than enough time to get their two banks of 4 or their banks of 4 and 5 organised and hard to break down.......... especially through the middle. The way to beat them is to go round the outside........ and as we all know, that ain't gonna happen.

ANYA can get round a defence AND put the ball into the box............but he puts him on the bench and then complains that nothing happens from the left.

Spot on - and as Anya can also play left back, he can get back tackle well when needed.

Anya is complete bobbins he makes Russell look like Leroy Sane in comparison, he is even worse than Camara. He does little on the ball and out of possession his positional sense and discipline are terrible that is why he doesn't play and rightly so.

Individually most of them in the right team could do a job, unfortunately the balance of our squad is wrong. Hopefully such talk is a sales pitch, rather than a prelude to another wasted summer in terms of much needed squad restructure.

Yep this bench v Barnsley - Bryson, Butterfield, Camara, Anya, Hughes, Mitchell, Bennett or this bench b Preston - Bryson, Anya, Bent, de Sart, Hughes, Camara, Mitchell would smash into Newcastle or Brighton's team no problem.

I look forward to the transfer window when teams are beating down our doors for such talent.
