My initial wish list...for what its worth:
Andre Wisdom -currently on loan at Salzberg Red Bull in Austria
Grant Hanley - currently warming Newcastle's bench
Grant Leadbitter - mostly not selected by Middlesboro
Sergi Canos - ripped Baird to pieces for Brentford
Stewart Downing - just got back into Middlesboro's team
Jordan Ibe - currently warming Bournemouth's bench

Haven't seen Canos, but no problems with us signing any of the others. Don't Wisdom and Ibe play in the same position ?

    .
??? Wisdom is a right back, Ibe is a winger...

Not Stewart Downing - he may have ability on the ball, maybe to the same degree as Johnny Russell has balls-out effort and commitment, but the end product is about the same. We don't need his type around here.

I know we currently have plenty of skilful attacking players, but I'd love us to get Jota from Brentford. 10 goals from midfield is decent and it feels inevitable Ince or Hughes (or maybe both) may leave this summer.

All the top teams need a ball winner, someone in the Kante mold would be nice but a Seth Johnson would do me fine

Win the ball, pass it 10 yards to a play maker, cover attacking MFs as they charge the box.

    Is Nobby Stiles available

Not been in the team at Hull someone suggested having a punt on Dawson.
Actually don't think it's a bad idea..only 33 bags of experience and a no nonsense player and a leader.

Would like us to have a look at Harry Mcguire at Hull

Great defender, captain organiser and just what we need to get the back four sorted

25 yo full of piss and vinegar just the type we need to make a foundation stone for our big push and for the fight to stay in the PL IMHO

Another to take my eye is Kahzri at Blunderland has the tools to be a match winner here and the PL

May be a bit pricey £5m or so but could be the catalyst Russell should be

Agreed. I can see several PL clubs being interested in him after this season. Whenever I've seen him on TV he looks to be a very good player.

Bristol City's number 4 (?) - centre half, played a blinder against Brighton on Saturday.

Just the sort of no nonsense defender we need.

Aden Flint - Used to play for Pinxton and Alfreton, born in Pinxton. I mentioned him at the start of last season.

John Ruddy, Sebastien Bassong, Steven Whittaker, Ryan Bennett, Youssouf Mulumbu, Michael Turner and Kyle Lafferty have all been released by Norwich.

    Would you take any?

Ryan Bennett and Youssouf Mulumbu could both be useful.

Ruddy is a reasonable keeper, agree Bennett & Mulumbu could possibly help the Rams. Turner? Not sure on his age but not totally useless. Lafferty? Big lad but not exactly prolific for a striker, might be ok from the bench.

I don't know how many times I suggested Maguire right from when he was a kid at Sheffield but never saw anyone else mention him! Now that he's in the sights of clubs with a much bigger incentive than we can offer him people have started to notice him. Too late once again I'm afraid. We could imo opinion have got Nugent at least 2 years ago which I think would've been a marvellous signing, still think he will if he's used correctly and with the right player/s round him!
As for Crouch I agree probably just a bit to old to risk money on, still hell of a player though. Again 2,3,or even 4 years ago would've loved to see him in our shirt but we could not have afforded him by a long shot back then, now I would much sooner see his wife in a Derby shirt(wet if possible)!
Going back to CB's I think Flint at BC is head and shoulders our best bet atm! Real defender and good for a goal or two!

Ooh, Roy, that's dangerously hovering on the edge of non "pc". I only mentioned the word "woodpile" without any other "mot juste" a few months ago and almost started a riot on here.

Mind you, if she could stand on a woodpile in said shirt,..... then she'd almost be as tall as her husband.

Continuing the digression about Peter Crouch, he was once asked what he'd be if he hadn't been a highly paid footballer.

    He replied, "A virgin."

If we brought both in it would be nice to look at 3 at the back in my opinion.
