    The Greatest Ever Rams Easter

Post by New England Ram on Tue 11 Apr 2017, 10:30 pm

    March 29th ....Derby 5 Luton 0

    Davies 5 goals ( 2 disallowed)

    March 31st.......Burnley 2 Derby 5

    Davies, Rioch, Nish, Hector 2

    April 1......Derby 2 Man City 1

    Rioch 2.

Three games in four days three wins and 12 goals scored.
There will never be another Easter like it.
The Burnley game remains my favourite ever away game you just knew as we left the ground under a hail of bricks and meat pies that we were going to win the league.

    Best ever Easter ...Great Days

( Three games in four days...today's pampered boys would need therapy).

I went to that Burnley game and I remember feeling the same way. We thrashed one of our rivals for the league title on their own ground. Absolutely destroyed them. We had a superb team, strong and well balanced and we knew we were about to be crowned champions again.

I was living in Manchester at the time and I went to the Man City v Ipswich game a few weeks later. If Ipswich didn't win it we were champions. I got some strange looks from City fans in the crowd when the game ended 1-1. They couldn't understand why I was so excited.

I've always believed the 74/75 team was the best Rams side I've ever seen.
