GR 'I knew when I took over...'

Post by KeoghKeogh on Thu 20 Apr 2017, 8:51 pm

There is an interesting short piece in the DET today. From similar quotes from GR on RD it sounds like GR will be saying the same during the forthcoming RD phone in. In a nutshell he is quoted as saying that he has watched Derby a lot this season and knew what was needed when he took the job. He has said that wanted to give players the chance. He didn't say that some have not impressed him - but it certainly seemed that way. Compared with the garbage that we have heard from managers over the last few years, this sounds like GR knows that he will need to make some big changes in personnel.

His son is a Derby season ticket holder. Whilst I'm sure he doesn't take his son's advice, I would have thought they'd have had discussions and such like.

He might also be a tad confused. How can a team play the way WE would like them to play against Fulham and the red dogs. Energy, movement off the ball, crisp passing, pressing etc and then revert to this season's norm after that?

Gary Rowett's black & white army! The only certainty is we're all barmy LOL roll

Like Rowett a lot...down to earth but not boring ...practical and grounded.
Glad he has a plan I hope he can get the squad and the time to execute that plan.
Honestly I'm not holding my breath he has a long tough road ahead...hopefully he comes through.
