Wisdom can be sought and can be acquired, but only if you can identify the sound of one hand clapping.

Derby telegraph have put together a starting 11 of the players we have been linked with:

    GOALKEEPER

Adam Smith (Northampton Town): The former Leicester City stopper is leaving Northampton this summer and has also been linked with Nottingham Forest. He made 94 appearances in two seasons with the Cobblers.

    RIGHT-BACK

Andre Wisdom (Liverpool): The defender had a successful loan stint with Derby in 2013-14, helping the Rams reach the play-off final. This season, he has been on loan at Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg, who are keen to retain his services.

    LEFT-BACK

Joe Bryan (Bristol City): Rams and Sunderland are said to be battling it out for the £2.5m-rated 23-year-old. Bryan, who can also play as a wing-back or in midfield, has made 181 appearances for his hometown club.

    CENTRE-BACK

Aden Flint (Bristol City): Derbyshire-born Flint caught the eye playing for Alfreton Town before earning moves to Swindon Town and Bristol City. The towering defender also offers a goal threat from set pieces.

    CENTRE-BACK

Grant Hanley (Newcastle United): The former Blackburn Rovers captain has only spent a season at Newcastle but could be allowed to leave after finding his first-team chances limited.

    MIDFIELDERS

Alex Soares (Maritimo): The Portuguese midfielder has been linked with the Rams, although manager Gary Rowett subsequently dismissed the speculation.

Kevin Stewart (Liverpool): The 23-year-old has made 20 senior appearances for the Reds and had several loan spells, including one at Burton Albion. Could he leave Anfield in search of regular first-team football?

    Aaron Mooy
(Manchester City): The Australian international has been one of the stand-out players in the Championship this season during his loan spell with Huddersfield Town. Derby are one of a host of clubs said to be interested in the £10m-rated player.

    FORWARDS

Ollie Watkins (Exeter City): The 21-year-old has helped Exeter reach the League Two play-off final and was named the EFL's young player of the year.

Tammy Abraham (Chelsea): The 19-year-old striker netted 23 goals on loan at Bristol City this season and is likely to be much in demand over the summer. Derby boss Gary Rowett said he was the type of player he would like in his squad.

    Michael Johnston
(Celtic): The teenage front man recently made his senior debut for Celtic. Shortly after being linked with Derby, along with Chelsea, it was announced that he had signed a new contract.

    TODAY:

Derby County have been linked with a move for Motherwell striker Louis Moult.

The Rams are interested in the 25-year-old forward along with Rangers and Oxford United, according to The Scottish Sun.

Moult has scored 18 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions this season and is fifth on the list of leading marksmen in the Scottish Premiership

DARIO DUMIC (25), centre back, NEC Nijmegen

He played for Denmark at all levels from U17 to U20 but has now been capped by Bosnia.
In 2008 to 2010 he played for Norwich U18s (Chris Martin was at Norwich at that time)
    before returning to Denmark.

At 6' 4" he sounds like the kind of giant centre back every good defence needs, and being Bosnian he ticks the box marked 'uncompromising eastern European b*stard'. Just what we need.

But for every Igor Stimac there's always a Bjorn Otto Bragstad, so I won't be holding my breath on this bit of speculation.

Of the DET suggestions I would happily take Wisdom (but not for 4M, 2M-3M is enough IMO), both centre halves, Mooy would, indeed be mooij but he will either be at Citeh still or at another PL club next season. Abrahams? I'd drive him to Pride Park myself. I'd also like to see us give Jordan Ibe the chance to rekindle his fire.

Now that would be a transfer window, but if we bought all those we'd need to sell Ince, Hughes and Keogh for about £40m to stay inline with FFP.

Interesting that every Rams fan who has watched last season's home game to Bristol City agrees that Abraham is the striker we need. The problem is, that if he has a couple of decent games in the PL, he'll be challenging Kane for that big Number 9 shirt. I can't see us getting close unfortunately.

I think the transfer window is open at the end of the season BUT most players contracts run till the end of June so transfers aren't formalised until then....... unless a player is out of contract / released /unattached.

According to the DET a deal for Hull's Curtis Davies is close. Apparently it's being reported that we have triggered a £500,000 release clause.

He would be a good signing, especially at that price.

£500k for Davies or £5mill for Hanley... no brainier, just hope he doesn't play like he played against us in that 2nd leg if he signs

According to reports we've been outpriced for Flint and have decided on Curtis Davies instead of Grant Hanley. If this is true, I am seriously underwhelmed already.

Curtis Davies is 32, Richard Keogh is 30, Jason Shackell is 33, Chris Baird is 35.

It's in the nationals too...we have triggered release clause for Curtis Davies....who was 4th choice centre back at Hull. Rather have Maguire or Dawson personally

So did the rest of the team. I don't understand the point you are trying to make with that comment.

Did Dawson or Maguire not play in a losing team? Michael Dawson is 33 and played 26 times last season.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not impressed with Curtis Davies, I just don't understand what you're saying.
