Don't know what to think about this.
As I said before when ever I saw him play last year the only thing I noticed him for was looking heavy legged and the game seemingly passing him bye other than the odd lunging foul.

But hopefully dropping down a division will help in that department.
His range of passing is always good..he's a big unit which helps.
And with Rowett expressing the desire to have players to play multiple positions.
I wonder if he's looking at him for cover as a potential middle of the back four player .

He's to be announced over the weekend. £2m bid accepted by Hull. I think it's great. Davies, Wisdom and Huddlestone all for under £5m. What a great bit of business that is!

When he played for us his strengths were:

strength - he rarely got pushed off the ball
passing - he passed accurately over a fair distance
effort - he worked gard and seemed bothered
versatility - I think that he played a few part-games at CH and didnt seem out of place. He was adequate in the air.

I expect that he will still have these strengths and that a fair few will have improved.

When he played for us his weaknesses were:

pace: he looked cumbersome over short and long distances. At times he struggled against smaller, fast footed players in midfield.
mobility: he seemed to have a wide 'turning circle' and struggled over the first few yards

I doubt that these will have improved.

However, what sways it for me is that he ought to be a far better player now as he ought to have learnt how to compensate for his lack of pace and mobility now.

He's certainly no Paul McGrath, but like McGrath, Huddlestone should now know how to get the best out of what he has got..

He'd be a good signing IMHO.

Importantly another leader and presence added to the team. Impossible to complain when we sign a seasoned premiersh*t player for 20% of the money we received for Ince.

Anybody fancy Huddlestone between Wisdom and Davies in a back 3..................alright I know, I've got to let it go.

What Huddlestone lacks in mobility, he makes up for in set piece delivery. I would have him play in front of the back four spraying his passes and use his pinpoint delivery of the ball at free kicks and set pieces.

A marvelous signing who at 30 has another 5 years in the tank.

Am very, very surprised Hull are willing to let him go as he played in 90% of their games in the Premiership last season.

First name on our teamsheet. I really believe that.

Similar to Thorne..so perfect...if both are fit...bonus...2 quality footballers in front of the back 4. Now it's looking good...keogh will thrive with those 2..as well as wisdom, Davies and Forsyth at the back!

What I can say is that last season his average passing length was 20m with a passing accuracy of 83%. A man that can spray the ball from the middle will be useful. I'd welcome him back with open arms. £2m is a snip.

Maybe...but as opposed to exposing it! All half decent players are better with better players around them. Keogh has had to cover for weak players for well too long...now we may see him play well in a good team..all bodes well

We managed to push Huddersfield up from £7.2m to £8.4m without the "help" of Sam Rush....I think we can afford at least another 50p and a packet of spangles for him.

Well hopefully his former team mate has his ear.
Although they will have the cash to buy him a shop full of spangles should they choose.

I'll give you Baird and Martin, although neither rely on pace anyway, but Keogh and Davies are quick enough for big defenders. Bradley Johnson isn't that slow either.

Huddlestone, Baird, Davis, and Martin also all know how to read the game to be in the right positions at the right time. Pace isn't always needed.

Might score a few more from set pieces now though. And hopefully defend them a bit better too.

If they had offered him the contract 3 weeks ago, he would have signed it. Once he knew Derby wanted him it was a no brainer for him.
