    taken from Wiki about Che..............

Manager Kevin Wilson of Adams' former club Ilkeston described Adams as having "pace in abundance, but he's really powerful too" and said that "his biggest asset is that knack of changing games in the blink of an eye".

Kevin Wilson's glowing praise does not have me salivating at yet another "Bolt out of the blue" with insufficient end product. A goal every 6 games for Blues in the SBC, a goal every 4 for Sheff U in L1. My instinct says another sprinter in footballer's clothing. Certainly no replacement for either Ince or Will.

According to the express and star, we are one of five clubs interested in taking 19year old West Brom central midfielder Sam Field on a season long loan. Apparently West Brom won't let him go until they have replaced Darren Fletcher.

Adams scored twice in the first half of Birmingham's game against Crawley Town.

Derby are trying to sign young talent Che Adams from Birmingham City. It is unlikely The Blues will accept anything under £15m #dcfc #bcfc

Have to say our supposed targets are a little underwhelming but it is what it is.
With Trumps response to North Korea it might not matter anyway!

I don't fancy our chances of signing any of them this side of Christmas.

I wonder what Morris's reaction will be?

It looks likely that our poor transfer and contractual decisions over the last few seasons are restricting us to a spend of around £16m, even after selling Hughes, Ince and Christie - and we've already spent £6m of that on Wisdom, Davies and Huddlestone.

The problem is that now we need strikers and creative players, and they always cost money if you're buying proven players or eye-catching youngsters. Ideally we need another midfielder, a wide attacker/winger and a centre forward. The market appears to have risen a little (it looks like we sold our players too cheaply) and £10m will only get us one of the three.

Assuming that we don't sell any more players or find a way to offload several without cost (hard to think of a way that doesn't involve an uzi), signing a £10m player won't make us competitive. We'd , IMO, be bobbing around that no man's land region between 12th and 7th.

I have a feeling that Mel will still demand promotion from Rowett and fire him when we're 10th in January. That'd be unfair on Rowett as he's handicapped by previous mistakes.

Mel really has two reasonable options:

1 - ignore FFP and let Rowett spend the £25m he needs to. If we're promoted then it won't matter. Even if not, it might be that in January we can offload a few more, go on a cup run, benefit from league success (packed houses, increased revenue from merchandise, TV, advertising and catering) and bring things back into balance. If not, we might have to swallow an embargo, but that just might give a manager some breathing space to get rid of the big time Charlies.

2 - acknowledge that our useless recruitment has blighted our ability to trade (not enough money to spend and our own players unwanted by others as on huge wages) and let the fans know that this will be a season of transition, with only cheap signings coming in and an emphasis on developing our own younger players.

What I'm trying to say is that if we spend our '£10m' and it doesn't work out, we'll be here again next season, with a bloated expensive squad and no ability to trade - without Ince or Hughes to flog. Yet if we bank the money and try to trim the squad further, we ought to be more competitive next season. We'll also have more of an idea if Bennett, Hanson, Elsnik, Lowe etc are likely to make it. But it requires the Chaiman to be patient, the manager to be honest with fans and the fans to chill out and understand that this season is about development, not promotion.

I'd be interested to know how far down our famous list of targets we are at the moment and how much further we have to go to be on page 2.

According to someone on Twitter, they bumped into Mel at PP today, got a photo with him. They asked him about transfers and he said Gary Rowett isn't as keen to spend his money as the previous managers have been but that there will be a signing soon. Dunno

I love the 'someone on Twitter' stuff. There can't be many owners around who'd be so forthcoming to a passing stranger loyal fan. Thank goodness for MM.

I'm thinking we are now stuck...unable to offload those we thought or hoped we might.
And unable or reluctant to pay out what is now deemed necessary to buy someone relatively normal..
It's seeming more likely that we will be stuck with the same players in the attacking half of the field till the very least January.
It is what it is which is most likely going to be a lot of average.
The legacy of the last few years reckless and wasted expenditure.
Going to be a snooze fest I believe...hope we are decent enough to steer clear of a relegation dog fight.
