I've looked at his stats and apart his short spell at Wednesday, he is a 1 goal every 2 games striker, at Wednesday he was a 1 in 4.

It also appears that the Bryson deal is done, a loan that becomes permanent in January

#dcfc's Jason Shackell was deemed too big an injury risk given the big wages #itfc would have had to pay. Mick really wanted Goldson.

It's a decent deal if it includes an option to buy Winnall.

I'm not so sure about loaning Bryson to Cardiff though. Hopefully it signals that Thorne is close to being fit to play 1st team fitba.

I thought that the swap deal was permanent deals, were they actually both loans?

One season long loan for another.. interesting.

I hope a midfield signing is incoming and simply just not announced yet.

    RAMS LAND KIEFTENBELD FROM BIRMINGHAM

    it's on the OS - he's a DM.

I hope we're keeping Huddlestone wrapped in cotton wool as he's the only creative MF left.

Well there we go. All in all.. a balanced set of signings. However, I know next to nothing about Winall or Kieftenbeld.

Kieftenbeld apparantly a tough tackling puts himself about type.
If he's of the same stock as Robbie V might be useful!

I don't quite understand the Winnall signing. I don't mean that I'm against it, or have a problem with him as I don't know much about him. On the plus side, he does seem to know where the goal is.

Yet, he looks like another middle sized striker to me (5ft 11 according to wiki) and he's not noted as being lighting quick (but not slow either). His description looks a lot like Vydra or Nugent to me. He certainly doesn't look like a lone striker, so presumably he'll operate either as one of a pair or in the 3 if we go 4231. With Lawrence, Russell, Anya, Vydra, Nugent, Martin, Bennett, Bent (in December), plus a couple of talented youngsters, we seem to have a lot of forward players vying for those places.

I could seriously understand why the club was looking at target men - but we seem to have signed another no 10/second striker.

Maybe it was just a case of anything will do to get Crabby Butterfield out of the club?

Just watch him turn out to be the reincarnation of Kevin Hector now.

We still have an unbalanced squad filled with overpriced overpaid deadweights but we all know we will have to wait until their contracts wind down (or to a sufficient level to pay them off) to get rid of some

Disappointed about Bryson personally - I know he hasn't scaled the heights but he was working his way back to fitness - if he is fit enough for Cardiff....

Swap deal is a strange one - unless it saves us some wages - we seem to have a plethora of similar forwards as Cornwall says

    transition season 8th-12th as expected....

Winnall is a number 9 and much quicker than Vydra or Nugent who both lack pace, he is certainly different to what we have in he is a forward who will be looking towards the goal rather than playing with his back to it. I think what Gary has done is give himself options in formation. He won't now have to play the 451, he can go 2 up front or even 3 at the back.

I think this is a start of the changes Gary will make, I would have liked Davis he is the type of midfielder we still require, that Darrell Powell type player who can be so effective at this level, get round the pitch at pace, defend and attack.

Good moves I think Bryson, Butterfield and Johnson are similar types, we only needed one of those and we had 3, so Gary has done well there.

I don't know any more than the stats on Winnall but he does have a good goals to games ratio. Hopefully he will carry that record on with the Rams.

The loan move saw Butters move the other way. He had lost his way at Derby and there is a very good player in there who might just reappear at Wendy. Who knows? I think that his moving was best for all concerned and I wish him well.

Bryson on a loan move to Cardiff to be made permanent in January is a sad one for many Rams fans and I know that Stockers will be among the saddest at this move. I am sorry to see him go as he has been brilliant for us and he will always be remembered for THAT hat trick. The reality is that, after his injury, we haven't seen him perform anywhere near the level we have come to expect from him and maybe he needs this move to kickstart his career. Again, I wish him well and know that, when he returns with Cardiff on the 17th of March, he will get a similar welcome to the one Wardy got.

Kieftenbeld is a good midfielder, tigerish in the tackle, comfortable on the ball and can distribute it well, however, he used to have a penchant for getting caught in possession, I hope he has lost that part of his game. What his signing, allied to the departures of Butters and Brys signals to me is that we are either going for 1-4-2-3-1 and/or 1-3-5-2/1-3-2-3-2, giving us options of more than 1 system. The reason I say that is that we have now sold all our midfielders that could be seen as anything like creative (Hughes, Butters, Brys and possibly Ince who was more of a winger for us). What midfielders do we have left? Tom, GT, BJ and Kieftenbeld. All DMs at Derby.

The young uns that have gone out on loan have gone to get 1st team experience and will, hopefully, come back 1st team squad material.

Shackell viewed as too much of an injury risk by Ipswich. Maybe we could have offered to pay his wages when injured. That may have tipped the scales. Too late now. He remains a Ram.

I was happy with the deals pre deadline day and hoped we would get a creative player in. We didn't which signals a more grunt and grind style of play than silky football.

Has GR got it right? Time will tell.

We are Derby, we are Derby, super Derby, super Rams.........

Gary Rowett's black and white army, we're not mad we're fishcakin' barmy.

    Yep, DTID.

We signed a right back, a centre back, a defensive midfielder, a cultured midfielder, a winger, and a striker. It feels like a good mix when you consider we needed strengthening all over the pitch.

. @Wolves moved their attentions closer to home with an enquiry for Derby striker Chris Martin but the Rams didn't want to let him go.
