If he's the twat that put that clause in Darren Bent's contract, no wonder he's gone into hiding.

The source of all that has gone wrong.

If Rush goes we're going to need a contingency plan. We need to find somebody to blame for players who turns out to be bad signings? We clearly can't blame the scouting system, the manager or the guy who provides the budget, they're the ones who get the credit for good signings.

Indeed, it is a conglomerate that is responsible Loughie. Not sure who is responsible for the clauses that always seem to come back to bite us. Rush? Rush and Mel? Rush, Mel and the Manager?

What we probably can lay at Rush's door is the almost exclusive use of the agency he used to work for.

    Wise words LR.

I think my choice to blame him is based on the fact that he has an eminently punchable face.

I just have a gut feeling about him. As I did about Murdo.

As we all know, most of our gut feelings turn out to be right.

Getting his strength together to deal with all the contractual matters of Ins and Outs ??
Ie taking an early summer holiday because he wont have time between May and September ??
if neither of the above it seems an odd time to take 'time out' unless, of course he has health problems ....... own or nearest and dearest. If this is the case we wish him well.

Mr Rowett said on Radio Derby that he would have final say on all transfer dealings including contracts. Therefore the future responsibility will stay with him.

Really ? I'd be surprised if GR got involved in the small print of players contracts. I didn't think that was part of his remit, but I could understand MM taking a lively interest in the detail of what players get offered.

Been told to stop away for 2 weeks while he assesses the season...
Is it mad Mel wields again or is it the poor dealings in the martin loan with no recall, the contract extensions triggered by appearances with Bent and Baird, the weimann loan with the £1.5mill deal at the end, the re-appointment of SM, a man Mel never trusted...
Or has Mel seen the light
Interesting at a time where the future seems brighter with rowett here

Personal reasons, nothing more, brings Sam to this sad decision. I personally think it is a shame. His enthusiasm for DCFC has been boundless, at a personal cost. So Sam whatever you do next I wish you better fortune.

The PR will point to other reasons (excuses) to save embarrassment.

I think this is the best Derby County news in at least a decade, Rush was a complete disaster other than hiring MacLaren first time and some good early loan deals it is hard to think of much he got right. The later deals he did with that Wasserman agency were tragic for the club.

Morris really should have got rid at the same time MacLaren went first time, that whole charade brought the club into disrepute the changing rooms to turmoil and should have been sorted at source, with proper management.

Added to his lack of management the guy is a complete big-head the club will be better off without him, even if it costs. Rush sorted himself a cracking deal when times were fleetingly good.

Interesting to see Mr Rush is on a annual salary of £500,000 according to the Daily Mail article, making him the highest paid official in the Championship. No wonder he was always smiling at press conferences.

Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, the club he represents can't even make the Championship play offs.

There are seven players in the Derby squad represented by WMG, who also look after former manager Paul Clement.

They are Bent, Jacob Butterfield, Jason Shackell, Bradley Johnson, Jamie Hanson, Nick Blackman and Luke Thomas

It explains a lot and it fishcaking stinks!

    1. Bent - A decent return in goals per game (roughly 1 every 3). When signed most were not happy but his average would see him on 16 a season based on 48 league games. IMO, too often caught offside, less mobile than Martin and less prolific and not as involved as martin in link up play
    2. Jacob Butterfield - when he was bought many were licking their lips as he had been brilliant at the Terriers.
    3. Jason Shackell - Might the Rush/WMG connection be another reason for his toing and froing between Burnley and us?
    4. Bradley Johnson - Many thought he was a tad over priced but he was seen as a good signing. Started like he was worth it, tailed off but has improved of late.
    5. Jamie Hanson - One of our own and one of only 2 Academy products on WMGs books so I don't see anything devious or underhand in it
    6. Nick Blackman - Investigate this one as his previous career was much more of an indicator to performances than his single golden half a season
    7.  Luke Thomas - One of our own and one of only 2 Academy products on WMGs books so I don't see anything devious or underhand in it

The above is my take on the 7 players we have via WMG. If there is anything fishy then I can't help but think that SR favoured his former employer above other agencies. It would only be fishy, however, if SR was either getting backhanders or the promise of cash/job.something else, in the future.
