    Rams opt out of iFollow...

Post by MadAmster on Sun 07 May 2017, 10:19 am

.... to set up their own service.

    This raises questions....

    1. How much will it cost?
    2. Will it include away games?

Can't see it including away games can you ?
If MM is keen on doing this well then surely it's all about the set up..cameras and stuff he won't have control of that away.

That has me in a quandary. Will there be an agreement between the Rams and iFollow or not?

iFollow will want one in order to provide iFollow coverage of everybody's away game at Pride Park.

Derby will want one in order to provide away games to the Rams ex-pat faithful.

It would be in the best interests of both parties to come to an agreement. However, I am aware of that not being sufficient common sense to have it happen.

As always, time alone will tell.

I wonder if it's because iFollow is only beneficial to fans abroad. Maybe Mel wants a service for UK fans too (as there's more money in it)?

Think it's dangerous territory to offer it to fans in UK.
Nice of course for those that live a distance away in the U.K. But it could impact the match day experience if fans started staying home to watch it..unless its a guaranteed sell out.
Anyway being a selfish bastaward it's about time us ex pats got looked after

As I said in another thread, I don't see it being offered to UK residents any day soon. It would:

    1. impact on DCFC's home crowd as some would watch at home for 3 quid rather than for 20+ at PridePark
    2. impact on other's crowds as there are a number of people who watch a team's home games and go to other local clubs (pro or amateur) when their team is away and not "local". EG - Trees/Magpies and many others you can probably think of.

I guess it's hard to know what service will be provided (quality, frequency, payment options, all season or pay per match, etc) to be that confident. A little underwhelmed now, especially without any details, that I can find. Especially in the relatively short time that's available. Oh well.

What we do know is we can sign up and get Derby's away games..... or do we.

Does the £110 a season with iFollow give you full access, like Rams Player does to interviews, radio commo, highlights, full 90 etc of everybody OR would we have to fork out 2 and a half grand?
