    Big targets?

Post by Loughborough Ram on Mon 10 Jul 2017, 9:25 am

This is what Gary Rowett has said in relation to replacements for the players that have left.

Certainly, we will make some key signings still. What we have to do with that is remain patient.

“When people see the likes of Will Hughes and Tom Ince go out, they automatically assume that we are going to instantly replace.

“We have some excellent targets and a lot of the Premier League clubs are away on tour, so we might have to wait for one or two of those teams to get back before we can move.”

Eejits all over FB moaning lots out few in......

They don't understand how it works. Especially when you were close to FFP limits before starting the process.

Siad it b4, no more than 3 more incoming and half a dozen to go.

I get nervous when managers start talking about " good targets" .
As Ammy has already pointed out expectations start to get nuts and those fans that have got over excited end up being underwhelmed when Messi doesn't arrive and the player that does immediately has a target on his back for the moaners.
They have made it pretty clear there will be more going out than coming in.

Brentford manager says Jota not going to derby as there is an imminent bid from a PL club in the offing and he doesn't want to sell the lad to an SBC rival.

happy for this to be a transition season with a top 12 finish but the team taking shape - ship a lot of the dead wood (expensive) in the squad and bring in hungry up and coming players - why are we not looking in the lower leagues though - premiershite ressies will still be on massive wages and command stupid fees

Sounded to me like the waflings of a mad man. He said that Jota didn't want to play for anybody else in the championship because he loves Brentford so much that he couldn't play against them. He then went on to say that Jota's agent has told him that a big bid from a premiersh*t club is on it's way, what by carrier pidgeon? He also said that Jota loves Brentford so much that if nothing happens soon he thinks that Jota will say that enough is enough and he has decided to stay.

not me, yes clear out dead wood, but build on what good we have and top 6 has to be aim.

always the aim outsider but I don't think we will be anywhere near that this season - I retain the hope but am managing my own expectations.

Boro will be up there, Wendies, Villa, blunderland will go one way or the other, Hull I can't see doing anything, Sheff U or Bolton could both surprise, Wolves I doubt but you never know, reading will be sniffing around again - I just don't see it at the moment, but I hope I am completely wrong and we completely piss it - but my prediction based on the window so far is still 10th-12th

lets hope they finish 9th and we are still 8 places above them at the end of the season - the only criteria - I want them to finish 9th (actually that is a lie - beat them in the play off final would be better)

Not sure I would go if we were playing them in the final, couldn't stand the thought of seeing them celebrate
