    Team v Grimsby

Post by MadAmster on Tue 08 Aug 2017, 6:52 pm

Derby County: Mitchell, Baird, Keogh (C), Pearce, Olsson; Hanson, Butterfield; Bennett, Russell, Anya; Nugent

Substitutes: Carson, Martin, Wisdom, Weimann, Elsnik, Bird, Gordon

    1-4-2-3-1 is the formation.

4 changes forced by injury, Mitchell keeping in the Cup games is no surprise so only 3 unforced changes from the 8 changes made.

    Where's Vydra for f*cks sake????

A strange lopsided mixture of players in my opinion.

No Blackman in squad at all...he is definitely offski.
Surprised Vydra not involved as he needs minutes.
Hopefully this is Butterfields last game

We could field eleven players plus subs who aren't good enough.

Why do some fans need to make one player a scapegoat and harp on and on and on . . .
Last season it was Keogh, this season it's Butterfield, though neiither was our worst
player imho. Say it once or twice, if you must, but please, please don't shoehorn it
    into every thread.

On a positive note, it was scapegoat #2 whose corner was nodded home by scapegoat #1.

Tricky things, warm downs. Probably the dive into the puddles that did it.

So that's Thorne, Huddlestone, Johnson, Bryson and Hanson all at least injury doubts for Saturday. Butterfield, Elsnik and Baird as the midfield?

Anyone else a little concerned that we've only played one full game and already have an injury crisis?

I'll be concerned if none of those have overcome their 'injuries' by Saturday but I have a suspicion that most of them will be in the team against Wolves.

Nah, it's the Derby way to have a shuffling line of expensive players outside our treatment room after the first couple of games. In the past Craig Burley had his own bed in there, and I believe this tradition is currently being upheld by Nick Blackman.
