No, it probably won't happen, but it's a tremendous gesture. Thanks Mel, our club is in good hands.

Would it be churlish to wish he hadn't done it? It is, without a shadow of doubt, a fantastic and magnanimous offer. If we happen to go up, it'll make Mel a proper DCFC legend.

However, in my opinion, the last thing that we need to be doing this season is ratcheting up expectation. This season is a rebuilding one, where Gary Rowett can lay the foundations for future success. If the fans are expecting a quick fix, Rowett won't be given the patience which Nigel Clough, Arthur Cox and even Brian Clough were extended at the start of their tenures.

I don't want to sound negative - but I really feel that we need to be supportive of Rowett at this point, not getting all uptight if we're only mid-table in February. So I'm kind of being positive as well!

Your right Corny in the extant that the negative bridge jumping crew will be accusing the team of throwing games if they lose a couple in a row so as Mel doesn't have to pay out...that's how ****ed up some minds are !

It is a genuine and wonderful gesture, he should be rightly applauded for it.

Sadly, in reality, it is a little like me saying "If I shag Cameron Diaz this weekend, I'll give each COYR member a milion quid" !!!

Someone has already said that the club is wasting money that should be spent on the team as we have bought nobody in this transfer window!!!

I said if you're that bothered you can pay for yours when we get promoted and I'll have a free one. Their reply was that we won't get promoted. Bang head :faint:
