    Team v Brentford

    Carson

    Wisdom Keogh Davies Forsyth

    Johnson Bird Thorne

    Vydra Winnall Nugent

It's worth a look at Bird in midfield for this one

Lawrence out - injured or dropped? I'd drop Nugent if Lawrence is fit
and I certainly wouldn't go back to 4-3-3.

Which is the midfield play-maker if Bird fails? I'd be happy to see Bird
come as a sub in the unlikely event that we're winning comfortably but
it's a very big responsibility if he gets little help from Johnson and if
Thorne is still a bit rusty.

defiantly give Winnall a start, ive been impressed with him on both occasions i seen him come on. Ledley be interesting, but will be good for him to have game time ready for Cardiff on week end then on a wales point of view he needs it for Georgia away.

    Lawrence Ledley Johnson Vydra
    Martin

Huddlestone playing just in front of a back four and Lawrence and Vydra playing slightly forward of Ledley and Johnson (when in possession)

Martin, for me, is still our stand-out best player and the sooner we can get him playing and looking the part, the sooner we can start looking the part.

Said it on another thread Silks, I love Martin but I fear he is now in the same position Hales was 40 years ago. A goal scorer of limited ability who will thrive when a team playes to his strengths. DCFC no longer has the players to bring out the best in Coldplay so, with a heavy heart, I have to say it's time for him to go.

You may well be right there Amster. Just what a complete mess we have created here for ourselves. Rip something up that was working and replace it with.......well, I'm not sure what we have replaced that system with. Dunno

I don't think GR knows either. I was hoping to see us go after Birmingham the way we did against Hull, but instead we were scratching around for a point against one of the worst teams in the Championship. A very poor performance.

I don't know what GR's telling the players, but whatever it is it's not working.

we got to the play off final..we should have won that game...so clearly was working...
we had a formation and players that worked...how far away are we now from then!!!!
Also the football was entertaining then...on saturday i was bored..it was bang average and uninspiring.
Gary Rowett talks a fabulous game sometimes..but the football doesn't reflect the talk

Unfortunately, that system worked until it didn't. What do they say about the definition of madness?

We got to the final played against 10 men for an hour and had one shot on target in 90 minutes then as now we look good playing teams that let us play and shite against organised sides.

I'm a Wisdom fan but to put him back in when Baird is playing the steady Eddie role would at the moment be the wrong thing to do.

Injury or a poor game should be the only reasons for Baird to lose the shirt.

Otherwise a cracking team selection 'Ammy.

I'm with Sir Sawley Ram on this one.

Just the wrong message, regardless of the merits of each player, which are pretty close to call anyway IMHO.

Agree with the reasoning used SR (and the other SR), however, one of the things that stuck in my mind after watching Satdeh's game on one of those river/brook thingies was that Baird got done for pace too often for my liking and that was the reason I opted for Wisdom.
